  1. Don't overdo the Ivermectin, I think I did three years ago and I had a very bad season. I now use EASITOX one drop on the back of the neck, found it very effective and economical, think I got it from HYPERDRUG (on-line).
  2. I've got one in the sale, Lot 29. I bought the dam of it from KEN. The bird is a cock, I sent a pair off to the Europa and bred a pair for myself, I donated one of those to a fancier who had most of his birds killed by a stoat or something, I've still got the other one, she's one of only a handful I have left, she's been through hell but still with me.
  3. Sorry to hear this, hope you both come out of this ok, pigeon racing doesn't need low lifes like Coxy......wonder if he can sleep at night?

  5. I normally use Animal health in Colchester , who are very quick and about the same price......I bought the versele-laga tests a while ago, thought I'd better use them up.
  6. Hi Karl, I recently sent one off, it took 11 days to get the result. The test date was 5 days after I sent it, I too share your concerns, and there wasn't even a postal strike! PETER.
  7. No, it was a WEE FAST pigeon! ;D ;D ;D
  8. Well done Paul, sometimes a win comes when you least expect it! Nice to see you giving credit to Frank & Ann Tasker ...too many fanciers forget where their good birds come from.
  9. It was good, the new trap did the trick. About 100 birds back on the day, first group arrived after 8 hrs, 10 mins. A good number of Scottish birds were recorded.
  10. Thanks people, The new floor trap worked well. It was a good race, with the birds coming steadily once the first batch arrived. I enjoyed it, ( what I can remember that is!) ;D ;D ;D
  11. I MANAGED TO WIN 29th, the dam being from Ken Dodds.

  13. About another 8 have returned this evening, all quite close to each other. It's raining here now, so hopefully more will show tomorrow having perhaps getting a drink somewhere.
  14. Yes Ben, Everyone's pig sick about it. I'll tell you this much though, I've seen those birds that homed and it got to me a bit...just amazed at how tough they are, it's a sobering sight! Tony the driver was lucky to escape without serious injury, there's not much left of the truck.
  15. It's been very hot this afternoon and the birds have stopped working, hopefully we will see some more of these valiant birds this evening and tomorrow.
  16. P.S. You can P.M. me if you prefer. Thanks again.

  18. I'd like to appeal to fanciers in the Flete area on behalf of the SW ONE LOFT RACE. As a result of a serious accident on the M3 early today (05/08/07) most of the crates were damaged badly enough to allow the escape of most of the pigeons on board, those that managed to get out did so in a state of panic into the darkness. Incredibly about 80 have returned to the loft some with cuts, bruises and feathers missing, these birds did this under their own steam. Richy would be greatful for help in repatriating any of the birds that are still missing, many were injured but will have tried to home and not got very far, so please keep an eye out for birds that have a GREEN ETS RING on, the birds are wing stamped, please phone the no. or contact the SWOLRACE (details on WWW.SWOLRACE.COM) These birds have been through an ordeal and I know Richy will be glad to hear of any birds, even if they are dead so as he can account for them. These birds were in very good condition (approx 80 have homed in horrendous circumstances) so they could be a long way from the accident scene. MANY THANKS YOURS IN SPORT, GROVEHOMER (PETER)
  19. Whatever is causing these losses, one thing is clear......its having a bad effect on the fanciers in this region.
  20. About 40% returns from 95mls, thats the 3rd race, all three have been bad, most people here are wiped out, never known anything like it!
  21. Birds have been working back to the loft this morning (after that ordeal!) V ery lucky the driver wasnt seriously injured. Richard will be doing his level best I can assure you! I'm going out to the loft this afternoon for moral support if nothing else. Fingers crossed.
  22. Blackjack, is this down to Percy?
  23. Hi Ben, The bird in Bude was liberated and left the area today so hopefully it will turn up here soon, Bude is only 35miles away although the terrain will be a challenge for any YB. Peter.
