  1. thats a hard one to answer on average id say its the birds are not suited to the distance or just not good enough really to answer this one u would have to see the all the circumstances of the fl yer like i was out of the sport for a few year and when i came back i was asked by a few fanicers what was i doing wrong i am so far behind but what i found was the sport has moved on and they were doing the same thing they were doing years ago buy introduce new birds too willing to try new things what i am trying to say is always try new things if u are doing the same thing as last year u are standing still weather that be changing re system a little trying a new pair in your stock loft changing your loft to make the air flow better trying a new feed really its a over all thing it really is a hard one to answer
  2. well he did ask what pll think and for there advice that all we can do here we all have our different methods whos to say who is right u can pick up any video or book by top fanicers and all there methdods will be different that that why i said its down to understanding the pigeons that u own and what they can achive most famillys of pigeons need that extra year or two to mature im sure most distance ladies or men would agree on that one
  3. yeah mate probally the best way to go only advice i can give u is take ure time and if ure racing widowhood take it easy on the cocks as youngers and race the sh** out of the hens this is what i do and i only keep in the stock loft that what pigeons are left in the youngbird loft and results of my old cocks u can take out too much out of birdswhen they are youngers i only give birds that i know will have a change to perform as old birds 3 to 5 races ull know this as they will be brothers half brothers and so on in your old bird loft racing hoe this helps a little
  4. may i ask what are u hopeing to achive in the sport is it long distace your goal or is too have a odd go at it it would help to answer your question
  5. yeah mate u seem to have a good head on your shoulders main thing in this sport is patenice after a few years u will learn what u can push them depending on the distance id keep them inland untill the three just my opion it will depend on the day too if u think its going to be a easier race then normall i.e wind on the back u can chance a two year old but my advice keep them till three in saying all that the two big races i won were accross the water with yearlings so what do u say to that its a hard one but i have lost 1 or 2 good ones pushing them too far sorry sometimes i try to answer a thread and will give u more to think about
  6. most of the probs with falcons and hawks is down to the pigeon men them selves we dont do enough our selves there have been enough way of solving the probs given out to fanicers even on this site and im not talking about partitions or the like of this we all know what they are
  7. well done lads for the last 2 posts i agree with everything that u say its just that im travelling out of my town about 45 mile to get my birds marked as i was winning more than my fair share its just i think if the method i said abovee was in place i reckon id still be in a club in my town maybe
  8. i can understand pll geting mad when pll are clocking in way behind hours even but if a man has birds done right and he gets for argement sake 12 birds in 10 mins or so i think he should clock them all as they might all show in the fed result if hes lucky the club postions can be cut down to the members top 3 birds for result and what i feel is resonable if there is top 3 prizes in a club the top 3 lofts the money or what ever but i feel a fanicer should clock his birds if he feels they are in the result and to stop it a ruleing can be mad in your club top 20 postions only or top 10
  9. now there's a million dollar question i belive form is different to a bird being in top condition all though it does seem to come on the dropping of the first flight its hard to explain i think its more how the pigeon feels for eg take a bird racing all season lets take sprint pigeon why does he do well in 5 6 races on the trot even if the bird is in top condition all the race year although for a bird to come into top form he has to be in top condition i know i haven't answered your question probably gave u more to think about but sure with pigeons that the great thing one question answered and it opens the door to another question
  10. what is it
  11. just be on the watch when there not vacinated know of a few fanicers that had paramyxo[bad spelling] this year

  16. true story heard of a guy had a half tumbler half racer flew over 480 mile came on second day
  17. thers a few new strains now doing the rounds willy jacobs are one see them winning and louis corremans another [spelled wrong of course] ganus pigeons is another which seems to be doing well thres 3 if i think of more ill let u know these seem to be doing the biz at the mo
  18. what u say is true should have addded to treat the 2 birds really that are sick but i have seen cases where this spread so fast not in my own thank god
  19. i think a fanicer should be allowed to clock in as many birds as he likes take if u have the best flyer in your club is also the best flyer in the fed and if cut him down to clocking 2 3 birds wouldent be fair really what can be done is prize money can be given out per loft also first 3 birds from fanicer in club result but if he has 9 birds clocked the nine birds should should go to fed result as the fed result at least should be a true result of the day
  20. i have read colin walkers book cider viger is a brillant thing for pigeons but these sounds like yb sickens and this needs to be hit on the head straight away as most likelly the cocci levells have gone up in the sky cider vinger i use weeklly great thing ok but probally needs something a bit stronger dj one more question have u had them vaccanited yet
