  1. i would say as little as possible to be honest all depends on the size of your loft and the amount of time that u have i think if im reading the situation right this is your first year we would better be able to answer your question with lofts sizes and what amount of time u have the less u have the more u will learn as u can keep an idea on each individual bird i would say 20 is a nice number but more info would be helpful
  2. great book to strart with really is
  3. true vic true forgot to say that u get away with nottin here ;D
  4. nice vid mate
  5. bought mine off the add in the racing pigeon bit pricey alright no complaints what so ever place was full of cats before i moved in not one to be seen now
  6. the germans do have more pigeons in the race but there results are outstanding this year
  7. u really have asked a question that has a multitude of answers on types of answers some pll do some dont change there feed some break down the grub at the start of the week then build them back up again towards race then the weather can come into account i.e wind direction a race from 200 mile can turn into a right disaster while they can fly in from 500 mile no prob hours that they will be on the wing will probably be your biggest decider on what u should be feeding really every thing has to be taken into account most of the commercial feeding companies have a guide for u to on sorry about post think i might have given u more questions than answers but hope it helps a bit
  8. well i locked the rest up in there boxes let there box open and they could go out on the floor was thinking if she saw the rest paring up it might drive her on it seemed to have worked
  9. alls well today finally got her to pair about time i paid a whack of money for her pairing her to my best racing cock for the last 3 year he got busted by a falcon last year done breast and wing damage lucky to get him home really so much for them only taking the slow ones what a load of crap hes in stock loft now
  10. there are some good birds at autions no doubt what i have seen before s when a certain man is bidding a local competitor to him will bid more than him so he cant get the bird then walk out the door with out paying just so he cant get the bird
  11. had birds doing over 74 mile an hour clocked 10 in 2 to 3 minutes i said im right here i have to have a good result wasent in top 20 now that some trick ;D
  12. i use deep litter only during the off season and im thinking of racing young birds on it this year anyway one question one of the main reasons i used it was so the Miro organisms build up in the deep litter and pigeons are picking through it so basically every time they put there beak in it its like a probiotic but wouldn't dry disinfected sprinkled on the floor not kill these as i say i only use it through the off season then when my cocks go on widowhood its all cleaned out also i dont know about power washing he lofts as timber can soak up a lot of water and this is an ideal breeding ground for worms and others i find to give the loft a good clean i scrape out then give it a good burn then clean again i fnd the loft comes up spotless also doing this after u worm or do for cocci stops them picking it back up again so basically my system is no treatments through off season and try to build up birds immune system then when racing comes in kept spotless treated during racing for the useall suspects i find for a bird to reach real top form lofts have to be kept clean
  13. no cock grand ohh and i lock them in there boxes too have left these out tonight hopefully this might work
  14. paired up no problems but one hen wont pair up wont take any intrest at all i bought her in earlier this year she only a yealing but not a late bred all the rest paired up and all birds in excellent breeding condition is there any tricks
  15. well from what ive seen members dont get banned for noting dont know anything about this case and in fairness the webmaster cant tell us i could be wrong on that of course but what goes on between the webmaster and Chris should stay that way i feel unless they agree between them both to say what happened just what i think
  16. ill be staying in my lofts taking care of the birds trying to make them extra few yards while ye are all in blackpool

  19. wont work there in a habit now very hard to break it how is my comment extreme
  20. spartix (spelling) worm tablet down there throat when they come back do it straight away they will get sick after a few days they will associate getting sick with what there eating in the field takes a little while but does work try it
  21. probably has been said THE DYEING BREED sad but true
  22. thought id get a childish remark like that shows the amount of intelligence that u have
  23. asha what a disgrace u are to the sport to just say long distance is the only flying really cop on
  24. my belief on ets it will make things fairer to tell u the truth well i race sprint races and a lot of races are won on the trap and i think the more committed or experienced fanicers have there birds more under control or tamer what i think happens is after the inexperienced fancier catches his bird a few times it not as likely to trap as fast next time so i really it benefits the less experienced fancier i know i will get it as soon as but would suit me better if it never came in at all
  25. i use ground nut oil wheatgrem oil for a week or two before pairing up
