Eagle your asking a number of questions on the question on widdowhood hens these will be all within the same family of pigeons and will have raced as youngbirds i can't speak for other people but i always have top class hens with my racer cocks i even have moved hens that i had placed in my stock loft into my widdowhood cocks so i could get a round of young ones off certain cocks so don't doubt the hens that may not be raced by a widdowhood flyer on breeding breed 2 good ones together and cross your fingers and hope the pair clicks More time has been wasted by new starters wondering why this bird won't breed winners when its a grandchild to a certain pigeon and they simply can't understand what's going on they keep trying only to breed a few middle of the road birds which end up breaking there heart Hard selection will be your route to success and hard work bits of paper will never win you anything only heartache

First bit of advice don't be looking at pedigrees there a waste of time I'll look at them after the season is over too see what's breeding and what's not too see what's earned a perch in my stock loft A good pedigree is one that breeds winners Studs no doubt sell good birds there no doubting that if I was starting again id buy the rounds off peoples widdowhood cocks of course they have to be wining even if you were to ask to buy a round of eggs and have a few paired up at home ready to sit the eggs you would get them cheap as chips and I bet in a lot of cases you would get birds that you would not get that cheap if you were to buy them as young ones
