Some very intersting comments etc for my predicament, with my wee pigeon "Thanks everyone" :) But what I have done, mainly because one break was at the top of one leg where it joins the body & I had to completely stop him from moving as best that I could for this to heal to a reasonable fashion etc. I will just call it "The brick trick" ;D ;D ;D. First I made a bed for him out of a square plastic seedling box, cut down just big enough for him to sit in with pine needles, to make it bit more comfortable as a bed, with a hole cut in it for his legs to hang through which have been taped up to the best of my ability :'( :'( :'( along with the help of nurse Beth :) (She who must be obeyed) ;). This was then placed on 2 bricks, so his legs are free from touching anything & no weight on them etc, then 2 more bricks on them again, with a lid on top of that with another brick on the lid. It all looks a bit strange ????? & he hasn't quite figured out yet what's quite going on "PMSL" but thats just a minor detail, shall we say. He is also quite able to reach the feed & water in front of him fortunately & will in time just have to get used to being confined in a small space for the next week or so. As many of us know, lifes a bi*ch at times & I could imagine now, thats what he is thinking right this moment poor thing :'( :'( :'(. Enjoy.

"What do I do". Yesterday !!!!!!!!! I gave my cocks a toss for the first time in a local unit here, (3000 birds etc) just to give them a bit of experience going up with the mob etc. "Crap toss" ;D ;D but never mind ???????. Anyway !!!!!!!!, right on dark this cock makes a belly landing on top of the stock loft & just sat there etc. Stupid thing I first thought at the time, because he didn't move, & eventually !!!!!!!!!! I had to get the ladder out to get up on the roof to catch him (Not impressed I can tell you) till I saw he had both legs badly broken & I wish to save him because of his effort to get home etc, thou the odds are not looking too good I'm afraid for the poor bugger at the moment. So all you experts here ;D ;D ;D tell me the best way to immobilize him till he can recover fully, thou the chances are for what I see at the moment :'( :'( :'( not the best, & he will be a one legged pigeon unfortunately. PS, First time for everything, & I've never had this happen before in my life. Enjoy.

I'm sure here, would like to do things in a different way, but are held back by neighbours etc or other issues. In regards to what we can do at times with our birds unfortunately. You just have too, sadly work within the limits that are acceptable to all parties involved at the time. Even if it is a grumpy neighbour next door etc :'( :'( :'(. Education could be the way with next door :P into our sport in general, & also tell him about your involvement in collecting rings & show him your ring collection. Just as an example !!!!!!!! of what someone like yourself gets enjoyment out off & it shows him, you are not out roaming the streets beating up old ladies ;D ;D ;D etc like some. I know it can be tough going at times for someone like yourself, but if you do the right thing & do your best, at the end of the day everything should work out ok. Still :) , my local resident guru (Pigeon vet) in his wisdom here, has decided to do the sport a favour ??????????? as he is not racing in the near future. So he is offering to breed off certain of his stock pigeons, for $400 each. Just another fine example, of how etc :'( :'( :'( one flyer wishes to help another flyer who may be in need ;D ;D ;D. Enjoy.
