    Sheep wanted

Ive been waiting too Alan, usually we cheuchtars up here that are the targets
  2. I think you remove it from the bird and down load the data to your computer. The £130 is for one I think so if percy got your doo you would be down a good few quid and none the wiser where the doo was. See other similar ones on ebay for £70 or £80.
  3. Just had a look at the web site with the gps videos, looks really interesting . I would love to see what path my birds take up past Loch Lomond then what they do to get past the Rest and be Thankfull. £130 punds a bit steep though, especially if it never made it home.
  4. I had a similar problem at the start of the year Chris, nearly drove me mad! Once all the other pairs were eventually settled to their boxes this one cock was still up to mischief, ended up him and his hen only got out their box when I shut the rest up. Eventually came good and and all the boxes are open but what a performance.
  5. Hi Jimmy, I see Ponerosa are advertising grandchildren of Black Giant. Dont know if you ever got sorted. Al.
  6. We had a right gale of wind go through about 4.30, it was a good force 8 with heavy rain. Hope it wasnt so bad further south and east for those in the race. Al.

I know what you mean Tom, never thought I would see the day. The things you do for a quiet life eh :-/ Linda reckons if I can have dozens of pigeons she can have a wee dug. Struggled to argue with that I'm afraid :-/

look at the wee thing the wife got a couple of months ago, dont think it would scare many rats though.
  11. Wouldnt know about that but we used to collect their eggs when we were wee, didnt take log to fill a fish box
  12. Its right enough, the boys on the creel boats catch them all the time, dont know what they do onces theyare asleep though
  13. With seagulls you put the head under the wing too and turn it round a few times and they are sound asleep.
  14. SPDS have a depot in Leeds if they could have been got there but dont suppose cumbria is that close to Leeds. UK pigeon couriors sorted me out a few weeks ago, might be worth trying them. Al.

    Buzzards

I wish that was the case here pal. Buzzards are always in the air on the hills behind me, never seems to stip either the sparrrow hawk or the peregrine. I was getting hammered by both at the start of the year but things have quietened down now thankfully. Al.
  19. Just had a wee yearling hen come in, it doesnt happen often up here. She was flying from Falaise to Sheffield, didnt have get it wrong. Problem will be gettingher back to sheffield i think.
  20. strange right enough Chris, never even got an explanation never mind an appology for the trouble it caused.
  21. Uk pigeon couriors sorted me out after being badly let down by flyin couriors. I would use them again. Al.
  22. had one cirling way above the ybs tonight but it didnt try for any. Hadnt seen it for a month or two. Just hope its not going to start all over again.
  23. Bought the pair at the end of last year, didnt break the bank but was keen to get a few rounds of them. They were in great condition when they arrived and still seem in good health but for the eggs. Definately only 3 or 4, cant remeber which ring numbers which without going to the loft so definatly no more than 4 year old. Hasnt been flying out as i got them towards the end of last year to breed. Al.
  24. Thanks pal. will get her tested before i treat. Will be interesting to see. All the other birds in the same section are fine.
  25. I lost a lovely cock couple of month ago, a lad brought it over to me, found it in his garden, the crop was cut through horizontaly. It was at the time I was getting hammered by the hawk and am sure it was panicked as you say Frank. Really like the bird too.
