  1. i havent had the adult birds out flying as i thought they would fly back to where they came from, though from what everyone is saying that is unlikely! What age should i let the young squeakers fly from, i guess this is the only way i will find out even though i will be a nervous wreck and worry sick. Well they are sweet you know. I will try the early morning loft visit and the early afternoon too, but limited to the weekend as i am at work normally. But i know i have to sort this out if the release thing is going to work ;D
  2. Now i'm in a quandry (is that how you spell it). Okay, shall we say that once the sqeakers are able to fend for themselves i amtrak them up to you? ;D
  3. Ted there's no hope for me, but i hope their is hope for the birds!!! ;D
  4. Dovescot we really dont know if they are rollers tumblers or garden doves. I know they aren't logans that is for sure! You are welcome to have the hens once the eggs hatch and any of them that look like they are not logan's (which knowing my luck none of them are!) If you are looking to part with white racers in return, i'm happy to swap. How will i get them from Staffordshire to bonny Scotland? ;D
  5. Hi Sue, I have a loft with two compartments, one with stock birds and one with the young logans in that i fly. Problem arose when (and this shows my inexperience, we were given 6 additional white hens and it took me a while to realise that they were not logans or indeed any breed of white racing pigeon!, and we think they are a cross of tumblers/garden doves). The eggs are due to hatch any time - one has just hatched in the last 10 mins actually! I am going to remove the cross hens but so far have no where to put them, though i think i might know someone on here who may have them off me, free of course. We are going to buy a shed as we will definetly be needing more room, but the trouble is we are not sure if any of the logans have bred with logans and therefore are unsure about the offspring. (we have three logan cocks and three hens) It seems that the logan cocks prefer the cross breeds rather than the logan hens! I can't take them off the eggs cause i am a softy, but know that i need to stop them breeding anymore until i can sort something out and be sure of what is being bred.

Cute Very Cute - this post must have had more viewings than any other. Well done and good luck with your search ;D
  7. Ah Bless! ;D ;D :K) :K)
  8. Thanks Shadow, but could the squeakers be able to fly around 50 miles? Looks like i'm going to have to get another loft! ;D
  9. So you missed me then! ;D
  10. Okay strange situation i have, logan cocks have bred with (possible tumblers/garden doves) and we have 7 eggs waiting to hatch - first question what will be the result of that combination? yes i know they will be squeakers but would they able to fly any distance at all or are we talking confined to garden. Secondly, as i want to move the 6 hens of unknown species to stop them breeding, once these eggs are hatched roughly how long is it before the squeakers are self sufficient? Thirdly does it work putting dummy eggs in if you dont want them to breed anymore? Please share you wisdom with me ;D
  11. Not much room then??? ;D ;D ;D
  12. oh go on then, ill go next year, been as you all left me here on my own! ;D
  13. So i didnt miss much then?! Glad to have you all back safe and sound, been way to quiet on here. ;D Though it was awful that someone stole from one of our forum members, let's hope that it is true, what goes around comes around!
  14. Well done Tammy - seems your on a winning streak these days ;D
  15. Go on then make me jealous, how was Blackpool? Been very very quiet here ;D
  16. Why are you giving up - you have a really nice set up there
  17. Good job you are not a bird then - you would miss the worm ;D
  18. Me Jealous :'( :'(
  19. We have lights in our loft and they are on from dark to sun set. Admittedly i dont race, they are for a release business, but i was told it is better to leave them on particularly whilst nesting as they might not get back to their young in time if the lights are on timer. Not really sure what is best to do actually ;D
  20. i think this is a great idea. Hope you get them all back ;D
  21. Sounds like a great night, sorry i will miss it, but have fun anyway and i hope you raise lots for the chosen charity. Thanks again ;D
  22. Oh my god! Really I am shocked. I'd like to thank........ no seriously thank you to all those voted, though i think all of us are winners. Iwould have taken Dovescot up at Blackpool for the offer of a meal or a bottle of vodka, but alass i shall not be able to make it. It is unlikely that i will be up Dovescot's way for B&B, so I would chose the charity night, but as i am also unlikely to make that, can i offer that the tickets be put up for auction? and the proceeds given to the charity? ;D Thanks, i will stop blushing soon! Mandi :B ;D
  23. gorgeous - lovely looking youngsters
