  1. Thanks PJC, I was going to say that, but thought i might sound a bit offish. If everyone knew how much it has cost to set up this small on the side business, they'd know why the bank manager hates me. It's taken a fair few months, a lot of cash and so far the return hasn't balanced the books. Just the petrol alone is a killer at the moment, plus you have to factor in if you lose some of the birds, we live in hawk country and have lost some already when training. It costs to replace the logans if you want quality birds. Competition is rising too, but I have to admit seeing the brides face is the best thing, they love it and that makes it worth while, if I ever get to make any money on this little venture it will be amazing
  2. Tammy we are not actually that expensive in comparison to others
  3. They are lovely Karl ;D
  4. Fabulous, well done ;D
  5. Thanks for the recommendation Dovescot and Geordie, much appreciated. Have pm'd Numa. ;D
  6. Wish Billy all the best Duncan. And well done for helping him out too. See this sport breeds very nice people not just doos.
  7. I have just taken delivery of two beautiful logans supplied to me by Pecked Hen. They are stunning. So thank you Sue, I am very happy. ;D
  8. Cheers Gangster - i'll ignore the idiot!
  9. Happy birthday to your wife! Lots of guiness then? ;D
  10. Good luck with them what ever you decide to do. ;D
  11. I can't get his email address as it comes through pigeonsales.co.uk, but i am suitably suspicious enough to ignore it. I work to hard for my cash and am spending a lot on getting this release business set up to take the risk. Thanks for the replies.
  12. Hi, I know that I am a suspicious devil but I've had contact from someone called pigeonlad1 and guess where he is from, yep newcastle under lyme (almost stoke on trent) offering me white camiel cardons for £30 a young bird. Now this is how our old friend coxey first contacted me through pigeonsales.co.uk and the email was similar. Does anyone know if this person is NOT coxey?
  13. Congratulations, peckedh hen is right, you think you're excited now, and then you will fall in love with the chicks. Well done ;D
  14. I'd talk to your doctor. I was told that they had had great success with Champix, but after my experience of it and the bit in the press, think i would rather go cold turkey or try the patches.
  15. if you've gone this long stick at it, I kick myself for giving in, I'm weak. Stick at it ;D
  16. They are lovely, are they similar to logans?
  17. Me too. Was on Champix to help me stop, and it had a terrible effect on me. I got really depressed, and have never suffered with depression in my life before. I came off it and started up again, though i smoke less now and will try cold turkey again soon. Saw this week that Champix is in the press this week for causing depression and listlessness, so if you know anyone on it, tell them to be careful.
  18. Agree with Dovescot we should all be allowed to keep whatever pets we want but they should not affect anyone else. As much as i love my puddy cats, and they are kept in when the birds are out, should one of your neighbours not give a damn, get yourself a high powered water gun (great fun) and spray it, put some chillipowder down around your garden, they hate it. But be careful, you know what neighbours are like!
  19. Happy Birthday ;D :K)
  20. Oh Dunc you know i love my cats be nice :-/
  21. okay buy them a hearing aid and then get a repeller ;D
  22. We use chippings that you buy for horses from our local farm. It is like shreded bark but not. It isnt like saw dust so it doesn't get in their eyes, but it makes it so much easier cleaning the loft floor out. Very cheap to, cost me £4.00 for a huge bag the size of a large coal sack and lasts for a while. Makes cleaning the loft so much easier.
  23. I bet that was a wonderful sight to see
  24. Now that is something to aspire too

    Any damage ?

Only to my pride. Fell over in the high street due to gust of wind. I felt an idiot, but it did seem to make people smile on a fowl day!
