This bird is reg to Oldcastle Club in Co Meath with Willam Robinson on 086/3074144 as listed Secretary

The attacks are much more frequent all over now,due no doubt to well stocked nests of growing BOP. chicks, with an insatiable appetite/ hunger for our flying protein food parcels, and it will only get worse.when they are also airborne, its then the real carnage begins.

On the other side of the coin, there are lots of good producing hens, that dont have tusks .!!

Why not get someone with know how,to design this protest sheet listing all the endangered species, which in the main is down to overpopulation of Hawks, post it for download, get neigbours, friends, etc to sign, send copies to relevent bodies.

At his best,Tyson would have beaten Ali,he was a murderous fighter, that Ali wouldnt have been abl;e to keep off,Ali never found it that comfortable, like most big guys, when they had to punch downwards, and Tyson being comparitevly small, and semi crouched in his style ,appearing smaller, would have made Ali look pretty ineffective.

Got to agree 100% with last three posters,if you dont wish to support something, then dont.just stop boring readers with your negativity, when people attempt to tackle the issue of BOPs,which will soon be of blight proportions regarding our birds,I will back Roland or any others who try to make our Sport a wee bit safer, good for you Roland, carry on and ignore the spoilers
-
Well those who advocate the idea of having the birds locked up for two years, and i have no doubt if you are successful,it will have a very detrimental affect on the bops, go take steps to try implement it then,in the meantime, why not cut out the silly rubbish talk, and let Roland who is pursuing other avenues,do so,doesnt matter to fanciers how its done,as long as its done,so stop talking go do it,and stop knocking others, with your inuendos, and correctness,in this instance the more the merrier

Lots of logic in what Bob states, the density of the Perigrine, and to a somewhat lesser extent, other Raptors is solely down to its artifical food chain, our pigeons, available as protein packets.on a yearly basis, but especially available in greater numbers, when needed most, their breeding season, resulting in most pairs producing full nests, and reared to maturity, with very little effort on the parents behalf, now each fancier,at this stage, take a bow, because its down to your generosity in providing these raptors with food thats resulted in their population even by the doctored figures of the R.S.P.B to be now at an all time high and guess what, its gonna be at least 50% worse next season, under no circumstances can R S P B or any of the other bodies take credit, for this, its down to us fanciers, and our blindness, that credit should be given, would Bobs policy work ,of couse it would,Nature would decree that,as it always has, will it ever be implemented,of couse not, because the pigeon fancier is the cuurent dinasour.

Have a good one Mick, and enjoy the day,

Micko a Chara/Friend your posts are always more than enjoyable and readable, unlike some, keep posting as you see fit

The pedigree of the seller is as important as that of the bird, when buying pigeons, as paper will not refuse ink
-
Lots of bloodlines to fill this, but lots is down to the fancier, his loft methods, feeding, and motivation,at sprints its its down to the fancier much more.
-
JarGre What scientists, there far worse than pigeon fanciers, its nigh on impossible to get two to agree on anything, there are literally hundreds ofDoctors and Opticians, who can and do pick up on illnesses which show sympthoms in the eyes first
-
Definitely do as redcheqhen suggested, consult a Vet right away,he will diagnose and treat accordingly,at best with any one else, although intentions are good ,its only guesswork. Hope ya get it sorted soon.

Alan, rather than just dwell on pigeon fanciers,I am implying all that are of the opinion that the Hawk problem is not Natural, and is almost out of control, theses are the voices you want, immaterial if they are fanciers or not,its the public we first need to win over, with a website available, where those in favour of above can post facts and figures without this damnable rhetoric, that does our cause as much harm as it does good,we should be trying to get the public to realize, what its costing to have these on the protected birds list, when there title should now read common or garden, such is the density of them, all over it appears, and if someone should ask a question about French hawks/birds surely its to be expected in time a French voice might answer this, dont for one moment think these Raptor bodies will listen to us regardless of how justified our fears are,all together racer, roller, tippler, bird people, bird groups, gamekeepers, and lots more singing from the same hymn sheet, with our first aim being to have these Raptors removed from the the Protected List Species, what other Raptor has ever had so much protection, after all Raptors are at the top of the food chain

the Perigrine is a beautiful bird, and has its place in Natures scheme of things, its the overpoulation that is the problem. Like all species, there are good and bad hunters, possibily at the same ratio as good and bad pigeons. Now if down the years it had to depend solely on its ability,to kill wild prey,to propegate its species,it would indeed be very limited take the commie pigeon, that frequent every part of our world in abundance, their numbers are testament to the inability of the perigrine population to even put a small dent in their population, have no doubt a good hunter would survive and rear a limited nest of chicks on them, but the larger number would perish, due to their inability to even hunt this prey for thenmselves successful. The overpopulation is due directly to its artifical food chain, our pigeons, available in abundance when needed most, its breeding season. Now logic and common sense tells me,remove the scource of its abundance of protein, when needed most, its breeding seson, and the perigrine population is straight away stopped from increasing at the dramatic rate its enjoying, doubling its population annually, and now let Nature take its course. This is a viable and practical option,do I think its going to happen soon,No,chiefly due to basic ignorance, selfishness, conceit, and tunnel vision of the people who have inadvertently created this problem, ourselves pigeon fanciers

"Reduced Race Programe outside of its breeding season"its more naive not to read and quote in its entirety.
-
The R S P B in their twisted logic claim the BOP are having little affect on other species of birds, mantaining their population will stop growing if there is a shortage of food available, while convenientely forgetting its an artifcal food chain thats sustaing them, ie our birds, now to keep our birds confined for two breeding seasons, would indeed have a disasterous affect on the bop population, and for a while on other species, which might make the public wake up and take notice, you might then have a reduced race programe outside of its breeding times, bottom line if you take away their main scource of feed, for even two years, you will decimate them, but for pigeon fanciers to do this, well I wont hold my breath.

Good post Owen, but lest Roland thinks, its all falling on his shoulders, not so,its about all fanciers who care about their birds, and have a realistic clear view of whats happening regarding the sheer overpopulation B.O.Ps to day,now whats it going to be like in say five years time, their population is doubling annually, imagine the scenario in the future,to me its unthinkable, and all species are being affected, just put a bird table out in your garden, you have just created a killing field, there are many R.P.R.A memebrs who will agree with this, its the BOP element within their ranks, that have created this situation, and us as fanciers, every one of us,that helps by breeding and flying their protein parcels,so again I reiterate,if you are not part of the soloution, you are part of the problem, yes Roland I am also with you all the way, because I care about mine, and other birds
