continuation rather we went with protection of birds, with as many differing interests regarding birds coming on board as possibleas ,the overpopulation of these B.O.Ps are obviously having a detrimental affect on many species,as well as our pigeons, and a united front all would carry more weight, than just ourselves ,racer, roller, tippler.fancy breed fanciers, gamekeepers, bird lovers, protection groups, make up in total a good deal of the public, and with a good in your face P.R Firm ,the rest of the public may have sympathy with us after seeing pigeons robins, finches, being torn asunder by these predators on a regular basis.

Would rather we went with a P

Tis a brave man you are Micko,no doubt, but ye know what they say The moving finger, having writ, moves on. And all your piety,or wit, cant recall it to cancel one line of it My purpose ,to highlight.making sure Mick does see it,go get him Gangster l o l ;D ;D ;D

Would like to be involved in whatever I way can Roland,as this already overpopulation of b.o.p.are only set to get worse, their doubling their population on a yearly basis, and to my line of thought,if a fancier is not part of a somwhat possible soloution, then they are definitely a part of creating a very real problem.

Did see one only this morning,a fine hen,she alas made a mistake, its more than likely her first, and definitely her last,so she wont be keeping any more racers fit,

Got to agree with you jonjon,if Carlsberg were producing raceing pigeons, they definitely wouldn't do it as well as Alun, who incidentally has a young bird sale in The Sarsfield Club Dublin on Monday 4th of May.

This would definitely work I.B. as the Peregrine and other species of hawk population consists of like all species, good and bad hunters, with the latter easily outnumbering the former as Nature intended, but its when this false food chain is available(pigeons) just at the very times they need it most, mating, nesting, rearing season, which incidentally coincides with our birds racing/breeding seasons,is when the food is available in abundance,so the beat goes on,this is how they are able to multiply at such a rate, thanks to the generosity of us fanciers and our take aways, not too sure if they would follow suit Gooner, ours is a man made ideal governed by ourselves, these Hawks are governed by Nature, and would I believe revert to the the survival of the fittest only,as Nature decrees,I would rather avoid their breeding season for say two years, have reduced racing, earlier and later, this would solve the problem of the overpopulation within three years just watch the web cam on Derby Cathedral, all Perigrines are breeding within a few days of each other, consequently its in and around when our Y/B activity begins, their carnage amongst our birds is at its peak

Very good Roland, but we have to keep it simple,so you might understand it, ;)

Whats the difference between Tumblers & Rollers?
Merlin replied to GypUK's topic in Fancy & Show Pigeons
In answer to original question, its anything 25 feet onwards in depth ,and stunning velocity, J M O. -
No problems breeding from older birds ,which for yourself has done the business, obviously it wouldn't be about if it hadn't,but as for buying in older birds, unless they have a very good racing career, but based solely on its lineage, would myself be very wary.

Chrisis you will get the both of them on supermarket shelves, much cheaper I imagine than from the pigeon specialists, its where I get most of my pigeon "additives"
-
Your birds look excellent Old Yellow, and quite right of you to ignore jibes,of those with less common sense than grey matter.
-
Raced it for last two season,no probs trapping Cocks and Hens dropping to gether, unless its a pair, have found hens will perform better on this system, anyone else find likewise
-
Likewise ,same train of thought myself re Open Forum, thought P.M were for private and personal chats ,among others things
-
Well regarding Brewers Yeast,it must be that 1 time out of 10,because personally I think there is not a finer additive you can use, especially when racing the birds,I moisten the feed with Pea Nut Oil,then add Yeast, birds will almost talk to you for it l o l
-
It cant, and didn't,its just more spinology to add to the so called mystique of these rare endangered birds, when in fact they should be called common or garden, such is their population
-
All the best, and do drink too much, especially to day

It appears that Englishwomen are better than their male counterparts at the Rugby.!?

As above states is possibly the safest system,to encourage harmony amongst the birds, but if you want to guarantee parentage 100% you may keep them confined in box until eggs have been laid but my choice would be to go with the way pjc has described,it would prove less stressful in the long run, also would feed a decent young bird mix, with pigeon pelets added, when youngster hatch.

Mick your P.M box is full, how many rings did you say to send to morrow??
-
You have indeed made a valid point DD,but that old adage applies to house moves,I prefer if Mick, who has a good ear for music might remember that song"Bring Him Home" or if he likes, send em "home"
