  1. Thanks for all the replies. While I'm asking questions....I've got an 8x6 shed that I'm going to convert into my loft. Am I best to leave it as one area or split it do you think? I'm looking at getting a few racers(not sure how many will work in the shed this size?) just for fun and to learn a bit about training. Cheers.
  2. Does it matter which way the sputnik face or which way the avairy verander face. I guess south is best for the avairy part but is there a best way to face for the birds to trap into? Cheers
  3. Well my pigeons have just been collected, so thats that. I guess i won't be on here anymore, a big thank you to all of you for your advice and words of wisdom. Thanks
  4. I use it on my poultry houses, works great.
  5. I always thought i might get a problem as we back onto fields and an old railway line but i didn't realise the hawks would pick on the pigeons so quickly. Mind you i think it is my inexperience that doesn't help. i should have taught the birds to come in faster.
  6. I've only been keeping pigeons for about six months but due to hawk attacks are giving up with Rollers. I have a breeding pair with a ybd thats about three weeks old and a seperate hen (if i can get her off the roof before the hawk comes back). The breeding pair are both really good rollers, the spare hen is still young but is learning fast. Free to anyone, i'm just out side Lutterworth, LE17.
  7. Thanks, do you think i should take the nest bowl from under the ybs, it's covered in muck. What sort of age do they fly?
  8. I've got a young bird thats about 3 weeks old. The parents have laid two more eggs in another neast box and are sitting. But i don't know what to do, they are still feeding the young bird but for how long will they? with the set up i have the young bird can't get to the floor to eat very easily, should i take it out> How old do the start to fly? If i put it on the floor will it fly back to it's nest? Sorry for all the questions but i'm a bit stuck. Thanks (i've now got five birds.! here comes VAN Gyp.!!)
  9. We've got a Sparrow hawk that takes birds off the patio.!! :'(
  10. I'm so glad i asked....41 replies and not one answer...I love pigeons.!!
