I had the same problem at my loft and got a ultrasonic device from BQ for about 30 quid took about a week but the cat doesnt bother any more.

I had a karel herman hen win 4 times from 400 mls but none of her family could do it. I have also had 3 marcells win from 320 mls and one from 400 mls however i think they are few and far between as i have lost a lot of these same familys trying them.

A big thank you to pigeonbasics members. I joined pigeonbasics this year when my young birds took bad. I had tests done on them this came back with a yeast infection. this all happened after the first young bird race which i won. two days after the race my young bird team refused to fly and did not look right in the loft . i treated the birds and sent to the third race losing 7 birds. I then came to the site and read the posts on here and was amazed by the amount of information that had been posted on the site. After taking on board the information on vinigar, garlic , ventilation and cleaning the loft with disinfectant i tried my birds from newark (114mls) last week and won my club again. I sent 22 birds and had 21 back within 35mins of the winner. A BIG THANK YOU THIS IS DOWN TO YOU THE MEMBERS OF PIGEONBASICS. ;) ;)

Sorry to here about this . i hope everything gets sorted for you. i had a hen shot in the eye this year and had to kill her. it would be nice if people would leave us alone to enjoy our sport but there is always some idiots out there trying to stop us. Im going to try it myself next year. Hoping i can race the full young bird program as i have not been able to for the last few years due to my young birds moulting heavy after about 4 races.

My birds will go out once a week weather permitting on a weekend for a bath.

So that they can have a good laugh at that bloke who comes to wait on them all day long no matter what the weather. ;D ;D

Totaly agree with jimmy on getting the birds to trust you. Two year ago i purchased a marcells hen. she was a lovely calm hen but one day she flew over my head out the door and onto the fence. i sat for about 20 minuets calling to her and she flew down to the front of the loft and followed my young birds into the loft. she has since bred me 3 club winners so she was worth having back. to this day she still follows me about the loft but has never been out since. i think if the bird has trust for the owner and the loft your chances are greatly increased to get them back.
