None of them are show birds they are all racing pigeons. The family of some of these birds have been winning for me for the last 9 years from 60mls to 250mls. michael.

I personaly use 1 bag of G10 pellets to 2 bags of breeding corn so mine is about 33% pellets. When the young go through to the young bird section they get the same for about the first six weeks. michael.

Thanks all The 5th down is called the jinx he had 6 seconds up till last year then he won his first race. He also recently won the winners show on the pigeon land site. I think most of my own problems with young bird losses increased in 1984. This coincided with the introduction of the annual injection for P M V . Not sure weather this was a factor in the losses or weather it was because clashing became more frequent due to a lot of lofts turning to north road racing. In 1983 i started the young bird season with 12 young birds and finnished with 11 all where sent to 9 races as far as 250 mls. Now i am lucky to have 50% left half way through the young bird season. I have noticed that in my area if your young birds get past the first 4 races you usually have very few problems after this. michael.

Never used bleach however i use milton to wash my drinkers out daily. michael.

I bought 2 young birds last year but they have gone to stock so i have no experience of racing them as yet. This is one of them.

Keep all new introductions in the loft seperate from your own birds until you are sure they are carrying nothing. Back in 1998 i alowed a mate to keep 6 young birds in my loft while he built a new young bird section they were alowed in with my own young birds and the whole team went down with salmonella within days. My mistake. About 60% had to be destroyed. michael.
