  7. Two Pigeons given to me today SU 10 AV 3716 has a Kirkintilloch wing stamp, I would normally be travelling up through the Glasgow area but won't be for a few weeks so if anybody is going that way can you collect. I have no idea were SU 10 S8454 its a little red hen totaly flown out. If any body has any information ref these birds please contact me via PM or this thread.
  8. Not a lot you can do i had it all the time with sputniks they don't seem to do it when they reach maturity they are a little to big. you could try making the gaps smaller so that they cannot get that first wing through.
  9. Put the one with the broken leg in a basket filled with shaving so that whenit lies down it can take the weight off the broken on obviously put food and water in leave it inthere for about 2 weeks and it will be fine. the one withthe wing down leave it in a box for a few days just to keep an eye on it, if it seems that it cam fly when you let it out in to the loft reintaduce it to the rest the idea is not to leave it in with the others as they will probably harm it as you probably know the seem to attack the week ones. hope this is what you were looking for. all the best wings

    Stray Pigeon

if you can catch it and maybe get the ring number and publish it on here i'm sure some one will be able to help. Try a cardboard box balanced on a stick at one end tie some string to the stick and place some food ie sunflower hearts or garden bird seed under the box try making a small trail to a pile under the box and when the bird goes under pull the string so that the box falls on the bird. sorry if this sounds like me teaching you to suck eggs but only with the ring number and the bird contained can we help. all the best and good luck

Hi a friend of mine has had this bird for about 3 weeks may be longer when she got it in it had a broken leg. She did not know who to contact and find out who it belongs to because it had no wing stamp or leg ring telephone number. I will be going up to Scotland this evening and it will be the last time i go for about five weeks. if any body knows who this belongs to could you please let them know to contact me TODAY before 19.00 hrs as this is what time i will be setting off. I'm willing to meet someone along the M74 or anywhere that is conveniant.along my route. if this bird does not get back to its owner this evening i will have no meens of looking after it. The Lady does not have the time to look after this bird anymore. Many thanks Wings
  19. Rats will chew through wire, check to see if there are any droppings the size of currants. or if there is anywhere in the sides of the loft that a rat can get in they like to chew wood also so look for that too. if there is a gap were you think they may be able to get in look to see if the area were they come in has any scaly dirt over the gap were there bodies have made contact that is asure sign of them.

    Found Pigeon

If you can catch him somebody on here would be able to find out where he has come from and be able to get in touch with the owner. try puting some seed on the floor and make sure he sees you doing it and then you could use the old box and stick trick with string tied to the stick when he walks in drop the box. As i say if you can catch him it would be better.
  21. I always feed it on the corn and while it is still tacky. they seem to love it 2 large table spoons for about 40 Oz of corn.
  22. On a positive side rasbull all the young ones that have made it back to you will have had to think for themselves so hopefully they will have learned a lot from the experiance. Just be carefull now because of the stress they will have been under they may well come down with some thing just keep an eye on them and treat accordingly.
  23. Good effort mate thats a real good thing youa are doing.
