  1. No its a cock bird, the hen he is paired to looks and feels fine =. thoug i suppose you can't tell what is going on inside.
  2. I have other birds that are sat on eggs or have not laid yet and there droppings are fine.

Hi i have noticed in my stock loft that one of the pigeons tumbles over if it is in a rush, say for instance i pick it up and place it in its box it falls over like it doesn't know were its feet are then when it calms down it walks around pretty much ok. has anybody got any ideas the other birds in the loft seem fine.
  5. I treated for canker and worms thats all. I will try some salt, but is that not supposed to make them thirsty so making them drink more water? I will also feed in the boxes from now on.
  6. Hi can anybody give me some advice please. All my stock birds andthe Their babies have watery droppings they all look fantastic. The parents Seem to drink more water than ever. And it is the same every year is there a problem with them or is this normal Thanks for reading

    They will Only eat more for the first few days until they stop producing milk Then they are only carrying food to regurgitate to the young. My thoughts Are that they may not need as much grit because they will only be passing it on to the ybs

    I have been told today that giving grit every day will make there dropping loose because of the salt.

    My stock birds who all are down on eggs or feeding young birds seem to eat lots of grit, is this normal. the grit is matrix mixed with normal oyster shell.

I have paired up two yearings breed late on in last year.they have eventually laid one egg this is full and seems ok other than being rather small. the hen and cock are not particully small birds, my question is in members experiance will this young bird be worth letting hatch or should i ditch the egg and let them go down again?
  13. Hi Gulkie What did you find time cosuming if you weren't pulling flights. Hope that doesn't sound bad just wondering as i know very little about it yet.

  15. Hi everyone Has anybody used this system and if so what do they think about it compared to the Dark. Looking at what i have read about it I believe that it may be healthier for the young birds and better in the long run. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
