Harry O - Typical how do you know it's sicknus when you can't even spell it.If they were sick they would never had been in the basket if I had missed it the basket convener would have caught it and that would have been embarrassing

17 sent got 8 back missing 3 birds that have been to Newark and one that was my first bird last week a race of which I have still 15 adrift looks like a short season, dread having to lift the phone
-
Got two at 8-30pm Sat both had filthy feet blue rubber was black. Went to kip at 10pm nothing about, neighbour got in at 12pm and one sitting on the loft waiting to get in, in the morning it was sitting with another, another bad day at the races
-

Frank Bailey one of the sports good guys and fancier "par excellence" keep positive Frank we are all rooting for you
-
Frank I send my birds most weeks flying well, treated for most things and vaccinated but lost a whack so much so will not be going the this weeks race, doos that have flown all race points awol and a late bred sent by mistake first back to the loft logic in pigeon racing sometimes goes right out the window,Just spoke to my mate in Manchester and his combine/Amal.got a right doing from Falaise seems there is more to worry about other than percy. In the village there is at one end someone training an "Eagle" and someone at the other end a "Harris Hawk".SODS LAW springs to mind. The "Eagle" was sitting on a roof close to me and the place was alive with seagulls who took exception to its being there.

If it was not for the 98% there would be no racing at all they are the birds/fanciers that pay their money and prop up Feds and to some extent Nationals.I could be considered in the 98% to me it is a Sat. afternoon pastime if I had to depend on it for a living I would be bankrupt.

19 degrees on Friday and really hot, 20 degrees on Sat and slight wind making it feel cooler so says Mr Baty courtesy of STV

The East side is like the M1 birds are flying in all directions at least on the West there will be no "clashing" with Feds going South as there are many heading that way. There are also the Scottish Feds going North up the East side.I think percy is a problem but not as big as we think, there are so many others which have all been aired on different forums.I think b.Massey hit it on the head Feds have the get together large liberations are part of the way forward strength in numbers. We all try to enter the "Nationals" I am sure they do not liberate say Glasgow Fed first then Kingdom no they are all up as one and I for one say the 15min between libs does no one any favours especially as controllers do not speak to each other some may but as you found a few weeks ago Stuart some don't.Thanks for all the replys keep them coming, Maybe we could be try to fool Percy by carving a swathe down the centre or has that been tried.

Stuart - That is why I asked the question from the lads that are flying it instead of listening to stories, stories tend to grow arms and legs
-
How is the racing down the West route any better than the East heard returns were pretty poor so thought I would ask from the men who are racing it.
-
May be wrong but heard they only put the ER rings on gift or charity auction birds as I have one with the GB ring on

I have a silver Tankard presented by the Racing Pigeon to commemorate the silver jubilee of King George V don't know what it was presented for, anyone out there know? was it something that was raced for or just a presentation piece
-
The players just don't seem interested it's about time they played for the jersey instead of the inflated wages they get
-
Might be an idea to put the rules up so everyone knows what they are signing up to - don't like don't enter may give an indication of who is interested
-
We're sunk before we start get back to the navy blue white cuffs "Classic" i am not going to say anything in case I offend anyone Scott Brown looked embarrassed
-
There was a photo somewhere with them standing outside their loft with I think "Storm Queen"

Can remember standing in a queue when a shop had bananas in and handing over coupon book to get 2oz of sweets, sugar came in brown paper bags and fascinated watching the grocer patting the butter into shape with two wooden paddles and lard was for cooking chips and the butter sat on the stone floor of the pantry to stop it melting and collecting brambles and rasps to make jam and watching your mother making a dumpling and getting to skelp its ar*se before it went into the pot, sitting on the river bank with a poke of sugar and a stalk of rhubarb so sour it would have drawn your jaws together hence the sugar, eating a "piece" with mucky hands, sooking the blood from a cut finger, porridge,no corn flakes then, homemade soup, mince and totties ,stew, spuds and all other favourite veggies were all home grown and buying chipped fruit, broken biscuits, tripe, liver and kidney were often on the menu. Johnny Rae was the heartthrob(for the females)the Inkspots were one of the groups and 70 odd years later still hear to tell the tale
