  1. hi major , most of the company's have websites were you can buy birds or other bits , have you tried elimar's site there's alway's a load of birds on there up for auction
  2. what about the boys flying natural yb's would'nt be very fair on them , i think they should start yb's early, say when the ob's are having a channel race give the yb's a race , as a lot of people breed early yb's these bird's are ready to race in april but have to wait until mid july for a race
  3. well chichi you've won enough this year so better let someone else have a go lol 3rd national is still great anyway
  4. hi inv. not all distance birds are slow ,i got a 02 van geel cock that's won this year from 115mls and last year from 99 mls
  5. hi inv. what distance birds are there
  6. i tried my best sprinter hens at liege(422mls) and lost em all although the distance birds where rolling in from 4.30 , for me i'd get the right birds for the job
  7. hi inv. i don't know , i was told by my club chairman
  8. just been informed mr+mrs neville jenkins taking 1st+2nd national , well done nev great flying mate , congratulations to all other prizewinner's also
  9. congratulations to my club mate mr+mrs neville jenkins on winning the south road national ,i was just talking to nev he told me he was watching the rugby just after it finished he went outside and 2 dropped in
  10. a settling cage is just a box you put on the shed so new birds can have a look around before you let them out like putting them in a crate/basket on the loft roof or build a avairy off the shed and they'll spend all day in there , just somewhere where they can see their surroundings to get to know the area
  11. hi coey why don't you leave it clear it's easy enough to clean with a scrapper , as for the birds you lost were they really young when you let em out or a bit older(strong on the wing) and did you put them on the loft roof in a basket for a couple of days as this can help them get to know their surroundings first.
  12. i like the 1 loft races and have entered europa for the last 3 years,194th open 2005,1 of my birds was 14th open 2006 and 28th this year ,i also had a go at the channel challenge this year but was a bit late putting them in ,i had 2 birds going to the big race but only 1 returned and was behind ,next year i'm going to try the edinburgh international, europa classic, south west 1loft race and maybe the rpra 1
  13. for me the inbred 1 as it would contain more of the champion
  14. i'd swap em for mine , the performances that is , excellent flying by any standards
  15. hi paulo i started in 2004 ordered the magazines every week+month in the close season you have a lot of write ups on top fanciers and their systems i chose 1(roundabout racing cocks+hens) then bought video's, went round to see other fancier's loft's asking them questions about certain things , then taking the bits you like from here and there try your own version ,when i started i did'nt have a computer , but wish i had as there's a load of people on here only to willing to help
  16. welsh sr nat. is at eastbourne i think

  19. can you give me the clue again please
  20. t moore
  21. a miracle indeed chichi west+far west looks to have rain for most of the day giving those birds next to no chance
  22. i know what you mean mark got 20 yb's missing not a single 1 reported all stamped
  23. every year thousand's of yb's go missing but they must end up somewhere, i know some end up in town's and seaside resort's and a lot will be killed but their must be thousand's that end up in other fancier's loft's , i myself this year have had about 15/20 stray's in over the course of the season and report every one and i'm living in a quiet pigeon area, i bet there must be fancier's up the middle of the country getting hundreds in. but yb's don't seem to get reported i know some will but there's alot who won't so why can't we arrange a system where stray pigeon's can be send on transporters to meet other organisations to help bring those birds home
  24. my mate up north tells me he does this every week and takes em to the club still wet ,i personally don't do it but i have given em a cold bath if they want(not forced) but not every week or if their's a chance they'll meet rain coming home.
