  1. Had the same problem mate. I found i was feeding to much. One of my young sons cut there food by a quarter and also forgot to feed them one night. They are now like different birds.
  2. Although i am a new re starter i bought the loft from a very successful fancier he has put the 2 cages on the front with pespex covers that can be fitted if necessary. He has ventelation at the top front section and top back sections he has also put louvres in the front. In the floor he has put 2 x grills approx 2' square with strong mesh with very small holes. The majority of all these openings can be covered if necessary. The ventelation is excellent combined with this the yb's can get out in the cages and survey there surroundings. As i said earlier i am a new starter however this set was done with ventalation and keeping a dry loft in mind. Hope this is of some help.
  3. Could anyone tell me how much i should be feeding my yb's. They are just starting to fly and are becoming a bit of a pain to get in. I am trying to juggle there need for nutrition and my need to get them in when i call them. I don't want bad habits forming at this young stage. Thanks
  4. Thanks Mate The fog is beginning to clear around this ETS system. Concerns are what if they put the price of the rings up they have us over a barrel surely. This is making what seems like an excellent system very expensive to actually use.
  5. Could someone tell me how the ets ring works. Do you need 1 ring per bird or can they be swapped between birds. How much does a ring cost and were is the best place to get them. Thanks
  6. How much are the rings i take it you need one per pigeon and you can't swap these around. I will only be sending 6 at a time as thats the club limit.
  7. Yes the whole club fly's the same system as i think they got a grant. Its good i can use the system without the pocket clock however i will try and get one if it makes it easier. I will speak to the club sec about getting the ets rings. Thanks for help
  8. Very nice i am a red cheq adict wish i could afford them. Good luck selling them.
  9. I know i am asking a lot of questions at the moment however so much has changed since i raced as a kid/ I have got a unikon Ets from my club it does not have a pocket clock which i think i can manage in the short term without (i hope the system does operate without it). What happens with the rings do i need to buy rings. If i do how do these then get allocated to the right pigeon.
  10. What is the cut off prior to racing them.
  11. I thought they had to be inoculated prior to racing.
  12. when should YB's be injected.
  13. Thanks for all the replies by the looks of it mine should be fine for racing this year.
  14. Could anyone tell me what month a young bird is bred in that makes it a late bred. I have some bred mid march with some still awaiting to hatch. what is the latest they can be bred and still be ok for this years yb season. when does the yb season start.
  15. I have seen them advertised for £325 new this is with 1 pad. The pocket clock is an extra £220. From what i can gather the pocket clock comes off the main unit this then allows you to take this to the club when entering birds. If while you are away a bird enters it will still be timed by the main unit this then updates the pocket clock ideal i would imagine for long races. There is also a time difference between the ETS and the older clocks using rubber rings 17 secs they recon at our club when they tried it also you don't need to catch the birds. I suppose i should think myself lucky the club has these base units and loans them out for £15 a year which goes towards the battery change. Its a shame every club has not got these as not needing the expense of a clock is really helpful when newly starting. So far i have spend around £700 and i think this is probably a cheap start up. With the birds actually not costing me anything thanks to the generosity of the fanciers i have contacted. I reckon i will be spending around another £300 as i still need baskets etc Hope the wife doesn't see this post!!!!!!!!!!!!! Otherwise i may be having fried testicles for my breakfast (my own) LOL
  16. £220 no wonder the sport is dying. I suppose i can do with out it.
  17. It seems everything in this sport costs a fortune! The club has a Unikon system that we can use which has saved me money which is great. I think i may have to wait and see how i get on with it. Before investing in the pocket clock. Unless i can get one cheap.
  18. Anyone know how much a unikon pocket clock is and are they worth it.
  19. Does anyone out there use Matrix i know a lot of people swear by it. if so how do you use it how often etc. Also can anyone recommend a good trapping seed. Thanks

  21. It seems to only let me add 1 photo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
