No more back this morning so still missing 5/10. Down to 6 cocks for the rest of the season. Novice mistake sending yearlings some un raced to a hold over race with a Northerly wind. For them to be liberated in hail storms at the home end. I suppose this is pigeon racing. I hope i can keep the remaining 6 otherwise the young birds are going to be getting a lot of early training.

Got 5 from 10 so gutted. Mind you the ones that arrived flew through hail storms to get here. Pretty gutted hopefully some will return tom. If not only 6 cocks left for the rest of the season. I may have to try my fantails lol

UNC Worksop started libbing 0800 at 15 min intervals good luck all.

We are at the second race of the season Worksop about 80 miles to us. Tempted to send all my 11 cocks however it could bring my old bird season to a quick end if we have a disaster.

Possibly sending a few racing from Bubworth (selby) around the 50 mile mark.

First open race last sat. I didn't send most clubs not interested. First proper race this saturday. Wasn't going to send to it but may try a few

Well done Wull. What happens next are you going to try and buy your winner. I bet you can't wait until next year.

i run mine off a car battery have had no problems with it. I take the battery home every few months and recharge it.

What are they and how much are they going for.

I have something similar dry as a bone. Only time wet can get in is driving rain. Birds love them. I don't think they are as high tech as yours though. That red grizzle i got from you last year has thrown a dark grizzle cracking looker. I will have to get some pics up.

On my allotments it actually states the size of shed allowed etc. It also says that if they were built prior to a certain date you did not need permission however if you took it down you are not allowed to rebuild it without council permission. I managed to still have mine however it took a bit of sweet talking them

I am going to try the darkness this year for the first time so i am keen on any info. I didn't do it last year as it was my first year. I was really pleased with my YB's until i saw a team of darkness YB's the difference was amazing. I wish to be more competitive this year so feel it is a must.

Unikon Pocket Clock
The engineer replied to The engineer's topic in Novices, Beginners & Young Fanciers
Thanks i am only in 1 club at the moment which is a good club however has a 6 bird limit the rest go as trainers which is fine with my old birds as don't have many. I am breeding and buying near the 50 mark for young birds so i was thinking of also joining the other club in the village that has no limit. I didn't want to have to buy another clock due to the expense. So thank you for all the replies and i think my mind is made up. -
Hi Does anyone know if i can use my pocket clock in 2 different clubs sending to the same race on the same day. Thanks

Hopefully see you there. I've still got the 3 yb's i got from you last year all down on young themselves. Will lightly race them this year and see what happens

Advice Needed On Stock Pair
The engineer replied to The engineer's topic in Novices, Beginners & Young Fanciers
Floated them yesterday -
Anyone help.I floated 2 eggs from under one of my stock pairs yesterday leaving them no eggs. I went up this evening and they have laid another egg. I have left this egg under them. Is it to short a time for this egg to be fertile should i throw it or just leave it and see what happens. I am keen to try and get all young birds around the same age this year as last year they were all ages. Any advice would be appreciated.

I liked the Jan Theelans of ian axe however he only had cocks on the sat. I was after a pair so no good for me. When i looked again on Sun full of hens still happy with what i got though.
-
I bought a Mealy hen and a red cock both Ardens very pleased with them. Plus the seller took the time to speak to you which always helps.

I had a look at the Jan Theelans of Ian Axe only had cocks so not really that intersted hence i went for the Tumley Ardens time will tell if i have wasted my money. Hundreds of people with box's of pigeons all weekend. First time i experienced auctions some were run really amaturish. I really like the colours of the ones i bought i know some will say that is stupid however its my first full year so out to enjoy the birds. I am sure this will change when i get competitive. They seem to be well bred by what i can make out is a good named stud that also races them.
