    S.M.A

Have to disagree with Henrik, I put 2 measures to 2 litres from pairing up till weaning. Eggs like crock and you know the young are not lacking in anything. I had a couple of pairs lay after eight days. I paired up on the 5th Dec and bred 41 youngsters through all that cold with no heaters, just straw and paper.
  4. No problem at all !
  5. Ive been thinking about getting one for a couple of years. Heres a few websites you can try. If your unsure phone them and ask. * Brinsea * Novital * Multiquip * Masalles Most bird species require a similar range of temperature and humidity. For the incubation period of pigeon eggs, the following levels are recommended: * Temperature between 37.2 and 37.5 degrees C (or 99 to 99.5 degrees F) * Humidity levels of 55 to 60%
  6. 38 young birds all flying and ranging well. Have them on darkness and feathers are dropping and growing really well. Chuffed to bits with them.
  7. lol, defo agree with that.
  8. Broke pigeons never race the same! Tried it and know people who have tried it. broke pigeons have won races but the majority I never any good mate. If it was me I would wait until you have all the young birds ya want then keep the best in stock and get rid of the rest. If you are sure you want to break, wait until you have all the young that you need off them first and expect phone calls if you are gonna race them

I doubt it was a racing pigeon. That rings an NPA ring so was more than likely a fancy pigeon.

  19. Does anyone know of any clubs that would take young fanciers for racing or clubs dedicated to kids for racing pigeons ? My son wants his own birds and loft to race from and I have told him that he can have one of my lofts next year to race from and I will breed him his very own pigeons to race if it is possible at the age of 7 years to get into a club. Thanks Wayne.

    Widowhood

I paired up on the 3rd December and have now go all my youngbirds parted. I have parted my old birds and was wondering if I can fly my cocks on widowhood or not being I paired up so early. Does this make a difference or should I have paired up later to fly my old birds widowhood ?
  22. Does anyone use Cinnamon in there water, if so is it something you can use weekly or should it be only used when the birds are ill ?
