Pmsl JoshDolan, dont know never seen her pedigree but if there is Id probably outcross myself to them as well, lol. She will kill me when she reads this thread.
None of my birds are egg bound Owen. I was just asking the question out of curiosity because Ive never seen it and so wouldnt know how to recognise it or treat it if it ever happened. There are probiotic yoghurts given on the food regular and so they would get plenty of Calcium from that, they are given oils on the food twice a week and there are always fresh minerals down for them as well. I have only ever had three races in 2003 comin 6th on the third and beating a lot of the top fanciers in that race with pigeons that I bred off birds that I paid £1 each for off a bloke who hadnt raced for years and never selectivly bred his birds. He just let them choose there own parteners every year. So they cant be anything wrong with my managment Owen.
Have my lights on 6.00am to 10.00pm from fourteen days before pairing right through. I also pair through the bars where they can see each other but cant get to each other 1 week before letting them together propely in the boxes. I have paired today 10 pairs out of 11 paired straight up this morning and have just changed the hen in the couple that wouldnt pair. This couple are now also pairing and so all 11 pairs have paired up and I expect all to lay in there first egg in 10 to 12 days.
Feed to win 2 book and tickets for me and the mrs to got to the Blackpool show, oh and the brass sign for my loft that reads My Cocks Always In First, lol.
Yes but whats in the pigeon milk decides on whats in the parents crops surley ! Thats why breastfeeding mothers cant drink alchahol and take certain drugs because it is passed on the milk.
My mate had a pigeon that looked like a streeter, horrible greedy thing. I would have put it in the bin but it was his first pigeon back most of the time in young bird racing. I think it must of been the fact that it loved food that bought it home. Greedy thing ate like it had never been fed at every feed.
I dont know, a lot of people seem to be bidding on them. I just assumed that they got them early and was making money out of them. People would be able to have some age in there young birds being able to breed them october, november.
