Last nights fight was an absolute disgrace to the sport. Klitchco is gonna kill so if I was him I wouldnt get to attatched to that belt cause he aint gonna have it for very long. There are no real good heavyweights at the moment that would stand up to proper boxers like Ali, tyson in his day, before costumato died, excuse the spelling and may be if Im generous Lennox Lewis at his peak.

I know its pigeons we are ment to be talking about but I have to dis-agree with you strapper there slightly because natural bodybuilders cannot compete with the bodybuilders on steroids and cannot produce a phisique in the same catergory which is why most proffesional bodybuilders in competition are not tested for drugs. Bodybuilding is the only sport that is not tested because they are looking for monsters and this is probably why they wont make it illegal for people to use them in most countrys, including the UK. But I do agree with the use of Medication propely though. If people had not have used medication in this country then T.B, tettinuss, measels, mumps, etc etc would still be rife and if my mate hadnt had gone and got tested for chlimidia, he would never had known he had even got it, PMSL.

I live in the west midlands, Davy Fleming. Thanks for all the comments everyone I will take all on board in the future. Unfortunately after having a good look at all my birds earlier I decided that I wasnt gonna take any chances and got rid of the bird in question along with another one in the hens loft. A hard decision but Wasnt gonna ruin my breeding for next year, Ive put too much time and effort in over the last few months and am looking for ward to racing next year.

It feels a bit under weight and looks ill just to look at and didnt look proper before the antibiotics. The rest of the birds are tip top and I havent yet isolated it. Its a Danish tumbler that I bought back with several others (14 in total) from Holland so didnt want to get rid if I could help it. The trouble is I wanted to pair up early for racing next year and as it is in the cocks breeding loft and it just feels a bit close for comfort to me to start having problems in my loft. It is the easier thing to do. What do ya think, should I just bite the bullet and get rid ?

What does barcarbonate of soda do and where do I get it ?

Wasnt sure what the problem was so some one told me to try antibiotics as they cover most things. They havent been vacinated since I bought them in from Holland a year ago, I was gonna weight until after breeding. Why do ya think that is what it could be and if I vaccinate them will that cure it ?

One of my birds has really watery droppings. What do I treat for ? They have been on antibiotics recently, the only thing I havent done really is worm them, could it be worms ?

Yeah Ill defo keep you posted. I personaly think myself that this is a very good idea to keep the sport alive. The problem now is that the old fliers are dying off and there isnt enough younger people starting in the sport to replace them, no offence to anyone ! I think more good publicity and more of these courses across the country might be what we need to convince people that there is more to the birds than just being rats with wings. Ive got mates that ive known for years and I know that if they started they would be hooked but I cant get them past the thought that people who keep pigeons are sad individuals, lol.

There was quite a few people that turned up, a lot of them experienced fanciers. I think it went quite well, I enjoyed it. It was a free take off event so we will see how many novices turn up for the course which is £20 for 5 weeks. Im gonna go myself !

Did any one on hear go to the open evening of the racing pigeon breeding and racing course thats starting at the Forest Art Centre? I want to congratulate everyone involved and think its a great idea for bringing new novices into a great sport that needs a lot more good publicity.

Is there anyway of telling cocks from hens when very young and in the nest ?

Is it better to put the racing rings on the right way up or upside down and on the left or right foot ?

Ive just bought a junior with the clock with the hands. It doesnt look as old as the one on Ebay, its in a grey case and has a Linell Instrument Service LTD sticker on the side. I only paid £40 for it but he said it was in perfect working order and has had it tested and serviced. Is this classed as a T3 or T2. This is all new to me. Am I able to use this clock ? I hope so, lol.
