  1. Used it around 10 years ago in the drinking water.Didn't really think it had a very positive effect on the pigeons
  2. Just finsihed looking through the thread fifer It takes a while but theres a lot ae interesting stuff been posted
  3. That Elimar ones good Frank. He seems to have had a good relationship with Jos Van Den Brouke. It was quite interesting to find out that Georges Busschaert used to scrape oot his dad's doos for him in the 1920s
  4. Cheers Frank,I'll have a wee look
  5. Think his birds were in the breeding of 3 Belgian National winners this year
  6. Got some recently from the Klondyke garden centre in Polmont, they were about £9 each I think.Would have maybe spent a bit mare time finding them a bit cheaper but ad already knocked the hole in the front ae the hut
  7. Aye true enough Martin, looking forward tae next year already Its a long winter.Hope a can get into the loft withoot a plow this year
  8. They had three race out to Hexham Martin and some 60 mile training chucks.Need to get back on the darkness next year to be competetive. In sayin that they'd have done a lot better if a could get them in BAD MANAGEMENT,theres nae excuse
  9. Was looking through some old posts there.Forgot I put this picture up.All 5 are still here believe it or no .They're tidying up nicely. Future Champs-watch this space...
  10. A had a pair ae flamers in a bowl on the floor under a board this year, they sat on boiled eggs fer aboot 2 months If they're still quite young they might no take a box,see what happens in the coming months
  11. Is there anywhere you've no worked Walter?? http://www.pigeonnetwork.com/admin/ronnie_johnson/drone.cfm?ID=487 Read about the Moonlight Mannequin a while back-some doo!! Av been across three times-met some lovely people and seen some outstandin doos Its a nice part of the world.A drive down the west coast is like goin back in time
  12. Yip they were open positions.Fantastic flying regardless of how many doos he sent to the race but yer pal george's record of 3 sent 1st,2nd,3rd Section is outstanding especially where he sits and how much of the race those doos will have flown by themselves On a different note a performance that impressed me in recent times was from the INFC friendship national a couple of years back.Only 22 birds recorded in three days-Malachy and Mark Macguire got 2 birds at once takin 1st and 2nd on a vel of 911 ypm,one of the better lofts in Ireland at the present time. Hats off to the Blacks this year as well winning the Harkness Rosebowl(Kings Cup 2-bird average) for a record extending 4th time.Hard racing into Ireland
  13. Was Eddie Newcombe not something like 1st 2nd 3rd 9th 12th and 13th from Avranches one year ??
  14. Ask W.D on here Think the closest Jocky Harrison came to winning was 3rd open Nantes but like I said W.Ds the man to ask.Think he won the LSC Gold Cup a couple of times and also had a hen that scored from the channel 12 or 13 times
  15. Any body doing well over here with the Vereecke pigeons??
  16. Highlight of the season was 2nd section D 6th Open SNFC Ypres with a dark wf hen, shes not the most consitent racer in the hut but she put in a good fly that day She was bred by Davie and Geordie Hunter from Plean. If yer looking fer "strain" then I suppose shes a Hannah x Houben The sires one Davie and Geordie got from us and is off a pair of Jim Hannah doos I've got both out of 1st West Section 2nd open winners. His brother was with our first doos from Coldstream last year think he was the 2nd one clocked and 11th fed he was the first yearling in the NW fed from Maidstone-1st club,4th open 9 weeks later.Lost this cock at Messac this year The Dam is down through Davie and Geordie's good old Houben cock-hes bred a fair few winners for them
  17. top fliers Yer da's stories about them are top class
  18. Maybe better askin W.D but think one of the Harrison Bros got 9 diplomas from a SNFC channel race having sent 11 pigeons.Could be wrong on this though
  19. That may be what Frank is stating Mill House but it doesn't apply to the said members as they were in the Midland fed and within the West Section boundary before joining Avonbridge Club and the Northwest Fed.
  20. The West were never in a million years gonna win with that wind last weekend but going back to JADE's point it'd be interesting to know how many birds in the top 20 the last 7 years have actually been further than Leicester in the weeks beforehand
  21. The Frazers stuff is really good, got some stuff across from Ireland earlier in the year-brilliant value for money!!!
  22. Agree people send to them through choice and there has been some terrifc performances and will be in future but its to the detrement of federation birdages and to the birdage of the channel events-which I think most people would agree is what SNFC is all about. Theres another thread cutting about saying a similar thing but I think the best long term solution for feds would be to look into amalgamating for the further Inland races and later young bird races. From the SNFCs point of view if there were no inland Nationals you'd have a bigger entry into yer Gold Cup
