Aye thats very true Heard some murmours of an Olympic race to be held next year somewhere on the continent ??
-
Aye a mind Wull was well in.He went through a good wee spell actually :)Nice to see the NW gettin a wee turn in McGarry as well Well you'd think Ypres will still be in the programme next season but like some are saying their might not be a huge turnout from Sec E. I quite like the look of the 2010 programme but we'll have to see what happens come vote time

Aye thats it Stevie

Aye I can see thats the general opinion of the Section A lads goin on the entry to this years race despite the lowest position bein 21st in the three years previous.A lot of birds will have been lost as well this season though so it will have had a bearing on the Sec A turnout. I can see as well how fi the Sec A lads point of view they were that used to being in the top 5 fi more or less every race down the old route so will indeed be eager to go back. A part of me really thinks the SNFC should settle on a programme and just stick to it regardless, another part of me thinks it'd be a good idea to swing it about every other year to spread it around a bit.Its the same old story though somebody will always be in a better position than somebody else.Ye can only try yer best tae get yer doos right and try and enjoy yer racin

Im just trying to get ma head round how it must look to an outsider Obviously racing from the channel 75-100 % returns will not happen but am I right in saying the SNFC have never had a bad race returns wise from Belgium and the races have all been spread more evenly between all the sections than races from France??
-
How good a race was Liege for the Gold Cup??I was only around 11 at the time,we joined the SNFC the year after and its the only yearbook I have missing Dunno where it is. Remember Sandy Watson from my fed was in the top 10.It was won in Sec C,Section A 2nd?? Section E 5th??First pigeon in the North was 58th open What were the returns like??

East or West the Cream(Supermac) always floats to the top -
I wouldnae mind seein the 2010 programme for 2012 with the exception of dropping an inland race and only having one-the week before the Kings Cup(Eastbourne) We'll have to wait and see, hope to send regardless if the birds are right at the time

Whats the forums thoughts on racing from Belgium into Scotland? On the face of it all the SNFC and SCC races from Belgium seem to have been pretty successful returns wise.As for the results at National level each of the seven section winners usually feature on the first and second page.Is it too easy using the shortest channel crossing?? or is this a good thing?? Should we be racing from the likes of Ypres,Brussels and Liege?? Is Belgium the new France??

The people that have moved in next to our dookit have three cats. They were getting a bit of a nuisance Got some stuff from the garden centre called "Silent Roar" its pellets that have been soaked in lion dung.No seen them near the doos since I sprinkled this stuff. Got a spray as well called "Catapult".I mark a boundary line round the huts with it every other day as well

Lanarkshire Fed Race Program 2012
Rooster J. Cogburn replied to JohnQuinn's topic in Pigeon Politics, Rules & Regulations
Every bodies got their own ideas Firstly I don't think Lanarkshire's National performaces have been at all bad of late, with the exception of the YB national for obvious reasons. Secondly I think you may be off the mark when saying the route is the reason the West Section aren't performing the same in the SNFC as they did in years gone by although it does have some bearing. I have results here that are yellow with age.The West section have upto 70 and 80 pigeons in the first 100.The reason being in my opinion is that they sent over 75 % of the convoy. I've been told it was Charlie Graham who roused enthusiasm in the wise men from the east, basically encouraging them to empty their lofts for the SNFC races. Even when every federation in Scotland raced down the old west route the shift in power from West to East is there for all too see.The reason being as the East section started sending more pigeons, the West Section started sending less. So in order for the West Section and Lanarkshires SNFC performances to reach the highs of yesteryear they would need to equal or indeed send more birds than the East section. just my opinion though -

Rooster J. Cogburn replied to a topic in Notice Board
Correct Am obviously not in Lanarkshire fed but flying down the East the last two Seasons I don't think theres been a channel race where they haven't finsished in the top 20 SNFC. Section E won 2 SNFC races this season though both from Westerly racepoints Anyway its none ae ma business like I said am no in Lanarkshire.Enjoy yer meeting and hope yous get good racing from whatever route is chosen
