  1. If I had to pick the best loft in SNFC this century it'd probably be W.Kinnear & son
  2. Been to a few good yins but the finest team of pigeons I've ever seen belong to N.Black & sons,Dromore Co. Down
  3. John McNeill, Broxburn
  4. Aye av used the Nobivac before when I couldn't get hold of Colombovac.I thought it would be straight forward the day and I'd just have to go in pick it up and pay.Nothings ever easy wi these boys They've got it in now so will just have to wait and see what price she comes up with
  5. Short on cocks here so wouldnae mind a young one I could break to the loft but will make do with whats here for now
  6. Just back from the vets-they're a useless bunch down there.Went with the intention of picking up the PMV vaccine I ordered this week. Its there but they don't know the price of it I asked for 100 doses and was told over the phone I'd get two boxes of 50 costing £13 each, thought this sounded a good enough price. Went in just now and was told the woman who knowsthe actual price isn't back in til Tuesday and they had three prices on the screen £13 for 50 doses,£26 for 50 doses and £29 for 50 doses. Will see what one the wife picks on on Tuesday....
  7. A lot of top 500-600 mile blood on offer
  8. Usually sit in the car when its raining on raceday. We've an ex clubmate(wee Billy) that comes and watches oor doos everyweek, its sometimes no that easy to see oot the car windaes fer his fag reek
  9. Was goin to say that as well.He talks about Clerebaut a lot in Pigeon Gas.
  10. If its the Willy Clerebaut pigeons you mean speak to W.D on here. They've been top class when mixed in with his and his dads stuff over the years. Don't think they've many of them now but he might be able to point you in the right direction and give you some info on them.
  11. Have given doos everything from Kelloggs corn flakes to Lucozade Not sure it makes a blind bit of difference but we've all got our own ideas, thats one of the nice things about pigeons racing
  12. Got to be Busschaerts in Scotland anyway. Not many lofts won't have had a good bird at somepoint that they will have called a Busschaert and they are still at the top of the list at every distance, every week for the likes of John McNeill,John Duthie and John Hodgson. Debatable as to what a "strain" is mind you and as debatable is if Busschaerts fall into this category
  13. Heard of folk giving their doos Sherry in the water
  14. Heres a bit about green peas from a good book I like "With the geen pea the pigeon fancier is supplying the troughs of his birds with the best legume. They contain less protein and minerals than beans, but still have more than enough. The high nutritive value is mainly due to the ample content of B and E vitamins, and vitamin forming substances such as provitamin A:carotin" he goes onto say if they are abscent in your mixture add some yourself and the doos eat them happily as they are easily digested. He also mentions that they aren't really used as much as he thinks they should be.The main reason being the droppings are "nicer" with maple peas.
  15. One of the best they don't make heavyweights like these boys anymore
  16. Dinnae be silly George, its within walkin distance tae Blantyre

  22. Paid a visit to the man when I was 14,its a day out that'll stick with me as long I have the doos
  23. Would say so,spoke to a man recently who defines "survival of the fittest" and can boast the youngest ever SNFC Gold Award winner. In this time of extreme losses etc he can count on one hand the number of young birds he lost racing this season.A lot to think about
  24. Maybe that'd be a good thing,I doubt very much these fanciers had to use Parastop am only joking we've got to be happy about the good quality feed mixtures and supplements we have available but think maybe some lofts(mines included)would benefit from a bit more of this "survival of the fittest" mentality in some form.
