Cheers John Am a bit baffled as to whats happened to their website. Was a really well laid out site with good information on their products as well as pictures of all the feed mixtures etc.
Can't find their website for some reason.Been on it a few times, they've a few really good products. Can't remember the exact price of the Frazerform off hand but I'll try and find out
Got a few things worked out. This year I'll have to plan, usually let them pick their own mates one year then the following year they are force paired(2012) 2012 will be the third OB season we've had these doos so it'll take a few years testing to work out if they are better at pickin pairings than I am Am goin to pre pair them this coming breeding season, starting a month before I actually pair them.Hoping they'll all go down at more or less the same time this way
Our 2nd and 3rd pigeons timed from Ypres were bred in September 08.They were'nt in a basket until May 2009 but were allowed more or less to fly outside at will from weaning. As of the May they were basically tossed once or twice a week from a good distance and given the occasional single up,furthest they went was Kilmarnock(where my dad was working at the time). They did not enter a race basket until 2010.One of them in her first ever race from Coldstream-60miles was 1st Club and well up in the fed(can't remember exact position) As of this year they have been timed from Belgium and with all going to plan will go across the channel again next season Latebreds are often viewed as no hopers.Could be wrong but I think where a lot people go wrong is having them pretty much locked in the loft from weaning till they're 5 or 6 months old. An opinion for what its worth
http://www.pigeonstud.com/page27.htm This Australian stud seem to have a lot of the good old lines Barney,Irelands Dream Girl,Adam,Shy Lass,Telly Savalas etc.
Aye its amazing the impact these birds have had in UK at every level. The pigeons my dad was lucky enough to start off with were the Billy Parkes of Killyleigh pigeons-incredible birds.Last years SNFC Kings Cup winner was bred from a Gold award winner which can be traced back to Billy Parkes "Barney" winner of 21 or 22(memory) first przes."Barney" was bought by Louella along with "Ireland's dream Girl" which had 38 x1st,supposedely the record for a Busschaert pigeon. Some doos!!! Think Supermac also had a hen called "Speckle" out the aformentioned "Newton Pair".Wouldn't like to do sums but apparently "Speckle" is responisble for hundreds of 1st prize winners-generation after generation
