  1. And only 2 miles west of the airport who's fire and rescue service have a very fast rescue boat. No mention of it being launched.
  2. I've had one with protein lumps. They came up all over the bird almost in front of my eyes. No one I knew had seen anything like it before so the bird, a very good one was put to heaven. I mentioned it to Blue Checker Pied just a few weeks ago and another club member, both of them said it was protein lumps straight away. Both club members said that they had seen this before and it went away when less protein was fed. Although it was eating the same mix as the others it may have been picking out the seeds it liked the best so was the only one affected.
  3. Hi Harry, My post was aimed at Davy and no one else. I think he's done a great job so like to give credit where or when it's due. As for the message on the Lib Line I don't use it so never even thought about it. I hope your returns stay as good, they're far better than my, all the best, Jim.
  4. Well done on your race controlling today Davy. We're in the far West of the Fed but most of our members (myself excluded) got most of their birds home. As far as I know there is only about 10 missing from 48. Three of them are mine. Blue Checker Pied had 100% returns as did Jock Sutherland and Stewart Taylor's only one missing so anyone looking for someone to blame for poor returns just has to look in the mirror and it's no you they'll see looking back at them. There maybe more home by now I hope. Well done Davy!!! Jim.
  5. And me. When we first got it they told us that we got a free club kit. After a year or two they then told us it was on loan and to use it we need to contact them for codes each year. I assume then if something goes wrong with the club kit they will replace it free of charge seeing as it is theirs and not ours. Got to look on the bright side.
  6. Forres, Nairn & Inverness RPC. Result - Arniston YB 17 August 2013 - Independent of The North of Scotland Federation - Break Point Elgin. Well done to Paul Thomson for winning the race and to Carlton Reid for being 1st into Inverness. Paul also had fantastic returns again today 17/17. As you can see, I was last! 7. Well done all timers and YOU JOHN for posting a very neat result sheet. It takes longer to put in the dashes than it takes for the birds to get home. You can speed it up a bit by pasting onto Basics, then it goes all squint, then copy it back onto a word document, put in the dashes, then paste back to basics. Saves a good bit time! Jim.
  8. This was also said by the Gov. Chief Scientist, published his report on a Friday with photos and the then Prime Minister, (Tefelon Tony I think) sacked him by the following Monday. Can't afford to upset our American rulers or The big corporations like Monsanto can we.
  9. Aye, but he's always knackered in the morning, looks like he's never been to sleep!
  10. Will pm you Stewart's number. Done!
  11. Thanks, that was my best team flying today but only one of them was home in good time. I don't think the B team will make the score sheet next week. We live in hope though. Paul and Willy had very good returns, wish I could say the same for the whole club.

  16. On top of my Sputnik this morning. Birds are on open hole so it's probably been in for feed but out again. Tried to phone Lanark number S Megahy in SHU booklet but number not recognised. If I catch the bird up I can have it let out from transporter at Arniston on Saturday.

  18. Sorry Peter, just checked again and I'm 4 minutes out not 5. No birds home from Perth yet either they got out at 9:05. I recon the Blue Checker Pied will be the top dog this week.
  19. Working well for me but 5 minutes out.
  20. She is looking good now and eating small seeds and Homoform but chucking the peas and maize away. What did the trick in the end was: A mustard spoon of cinnamon A mustard spoon of red lightening vitamins Half a mustard spoon of graviola. Too much of this can drop blood pressure so I was gambling. I usually just use about a matchstick head size amount. A tea spoon of slippery elm This was all mixed together then turned into a jelly with collodal silver and a few drops of concentrated elderberry juice. This was enough to fill a 5 mil syringe twice and all of it was put into her. The jelly is far to thick so the end was cut off the syringe. The following day her muck had changed from brown water to brown jelly just like the mix I put into her but with white bits in it. I gave her the same the next day. The following day she had proper looking muck but still a wee bit wet. Her muck is almost normal (but a wee bit wet) and its about five days since I gave her the mixture. She's locked in her nest box with the cock sitting on a perch at the box door and she has started playing up to him so must be feeling much better. I usually am very good at getting birds well but I did not think I would win with this one. Thanks to all that offered advise.
  21. Keith bird, R Wilson, 01542 870626.
  22. Clockman PM'd me to say that someone is taking birds to Perth to meet up with you. I don't know if this one will be in with them. It belongs to Bossy who is going to ring Jim Curran tonight who is holding the bird. Thanks for everybody's help.
  23. Aye Smiler, it's one of our club members. Can you give me your phone number so that I can pass it on to him please. Thanks for reporting it. Jim. Edit: is this the same bird that was reported to me by Jim Curran at tea time today??????
  24. Susan, if you still have the ETS ring you can get the loft number by assigning it to a doo and if you keep an eye on the screen the loft number will show. Be ready with a pen because if you touch the ok button it will be over written. Jim
  25. She is looking like she is improving today. She is eating more and although her muck is still poor there is now white parts in it. Many thanks to all who gave help. Jim
