  1. Not sure of the strain but the blood is Ron Williamson of N.I. The problem i have with accepting its from something else is i know the origins of all the ck's in that section as they're all home bred. with no sign of Chocolate in 8 years of having them in ma lofts. I'm flummoxed because i've always believed you can only get 2 blues from 2 blues. Thats why i can only imagine its because the parents are both Pencilled, the hen in particular who is heavy pencil marked.
  2. Wish i had some works to throw a spanner into!! :) :)
  3. Good man, a tweek here and there and everyone's happy.
  4. Well done to all the Whiteford family, your getting the rewards for your efforts, keep it up.
  5. I have a pair of Pencil blues paired together, 1/2 bro/sis mating. The sire of these, when paired to his own dghtr (black hen) bred a chocolate young bird last year. I got a Chocolate out of the 1/2 bro/sis mating this year. Some say its not possible to breed a Choc from 2 blues, i say it can only have come from they 2 birds and the Pencil in both ck & hen must have influenced the colour. What do you guys think of this?
  6. Not that i'm troubling the judge much the now, i've been flying a SORT OF roundabout system. I only do this to make sure i get the 1st 5 races into as many birds as possible. There have been 6 pairs or so still in beside the ck's all yaer so thats why i say SORT OF. Left them together last weekend to re-pair for the last 7 races + SNFC Nationals. Never done me any good today !!

  10. No in 'til 13.10 ma self, and i'm still waiting on 10/38, not exactly a good day for me!! Ma 1st doo will be doing 1087.85, but the winners will be doing 1150+ i reckon. Not too far from what Gareth predicted this morning, you'll need to let me know what your system is for guessing the eta's
  11. So much for dreaming about an early one and good returns, i got a dissy on both fronts!!....... A well there is always next week, thats the beauty of the doos, ther's always next week or next season
  12. You ever tried to loop one? Set out some cord or better still fly fishing line in a loop of about 8" on the grass and place feeding around it, the bird must step into the loop to eat, then strike like you were catching a fish when it does, the loop lassoo's the doos foot and you pull it to you. Its not the easiest way but if you get it right your sure to catch it.
