  1. They tried limiting birdage years ago, it made not an iota of difference to the result.
  2. As in the last example, dark feet have always been dark doos in my team.
  3. Aye that is the case Steven, i believe the most Easterly lofts have an advantage over ALL other sections in the club when we race out of France, the answer is to get out of there, this is my opinion on it and as i said earlier, i've been aware of the imbalance of chance for years and would like it changed. When it is Obvious one competitor has an advantage over another surely something MUST be done to even it out, SURELY.
  4. I might have guessed you'd come up with a cracker George, i would be prepared to stake my life on our birds running into wind over a 550 mile stretch of land and sea, the argument is about Prevailing conditions over many years not in individual races/years.
  5. Because every fancier gets a Truer distance coming from an Easterly race point (Truer in relation to how far each individual pigeon ACTUALLY flies), that gives everyone a chance to be able to one day say they have won the Ultimate prize in our sport. To continue on a line from Rennes say, just because some men decide it was a good place 100 years ago, simply means that not only would i need an Exceptional pigeon in my basket, i need a Very Rare set of racing conditions to happen at the same time. It may never be the case that i have a bird good enough to win it, but i'll never know unless i get as Fair a shout as every fancier in the race of winning it.
  6. I don't mind ma doos coming out the East, not when they have been flying East to West all the road, the same as everyone else's, but sending doos west just to be Blown East then have to turn back westerly, i mean its no rocket science!
  7. There are 3 ways to pool your pigeons in the national, Fed, Section and Open, i watched my Da for years filling in pool sheets and NEVER pooling birds in the Open. When i was old enough to ask why and understand it, he said WE HAVE NO CHANCE pooling against the South and East fanciers. He was 100% right. Now when i send birds i don't just Expect a fair shake at winning 1st Open, i Fuchin DEMAND IT or whats the point in entering?????? The absolute fact is we were racing from the WRONG country for nearly a 100 years before circumstances changed things, well i'm no prepared to wait for Circumstance to change it permanently, i will propose Liege or some other race that gives Every fancier and Every Pigeon a chance to win it, until i'm old and grey. I don't accept second best Ever and i'm get nothing but second best when we race from France. In another 100 years people will look back in History and see how bloody STUPID pigeon men were, even when the answer was SCREAMING at them they argued against it, and that will be their exact thoughts on how we are handling this, unless we MAKE IT FAIR.
  8. Sheryl and Sandy have entered the most gratifying period of there lives and i hope they get truly great joy from the new Baby. As for Andy and Margaret? Just like when your own arrived in this world, All over again, only this one WILL cost you's a fortune, CONGRATULATIONS to all of you and many many happy days ahead. ATB, John & Debbie.
  9. Doos canny get it or pass it on to other birds which is really my only interest in Bird Flu, as for chickens?? they are for eating and can be replaced with any number of Fowl, doos are doos and canny be replaced by anything. Also if scientists spent more time looking for ONE OFF vaccines for bird diseases of all types they wouldn't need to modify the genetics of anything. jmo
  10. Butter and Jam, just like it used to be, seems to be a nostalgic night tonight on the site, and i'm as nostalgic as the next guy
  11. Get wan and pit it at the dookit, then it can set aboot the collie when its big
  12. I TOTALLY agree with you!!
  13. He is a Patterdale x Bedlington and i've named him Max. Right into the shed tonight and not a murmur from him, which is just as well cos he's staying there for the duration. Someone else thought so too. Suppose there isn't much difference in appearance at that age.
  14. I think its more about fanciers only being interested in having an advantage over their competitors, with No regard to Fairness.
  15. Thought you might like a look at my new wee pup.
  16. I got 3 and was VERY disappointed with them. The 1st Section diploma is no different from my 82nd section one and imo that should not be the case.
  17. Have any of you who are Complaining about Liege had a look at the result from the last time we raced from there????????? I doubt it very much with what i have read on this thread. Do yourselves a favour and look at it, then post the positions of the top 10 and the section they flew from. I canny print what i really want to say to you's on this subject. SELFISHNESS and IGNORANCE would figure high up on my remarks though!!!!!!!
  18. Got to go to the Gold Cup race with the SNFC, this will usually be around 560 miles to central Scotland. The longest race with the SNFC is usually around 600/620 to the central belt, IF my team are racing well AND my 3yr olds are doing well i might have a wee bash at it. This would be the farthest i have ever sent birds if i go.
  19. Crawin disnae work, MANY have tried
  20. Yer no even that handsome to be just ugly
  21. so it is
  22. Pull the wires from a piece of electrical cable and use the flex
  23. Hotrod hit the nail on the head, you only get splayed legs from a nest with No or Very little nesting materials in it, its because the squab has no grip on the nest pan so it lays on its keel spreading its legs.
