Bigda wrote quote '............that's where it all went wrong when feds where founded they should have had total control in all races and been able to go all the way them self with out national clubs as the then feds would have made the races amalgamations for distance racing with sections and regions as is the case just now with the nationals .' I agree entirely. I have advocated , am setting the seed for this very same thing. Say £90 each FED member, and then club fees / fund - raiser etc. are upto individual clubs and members. I am of course being met with hostilety at present. But if one joins a Golf Club for instance they pay£150 or whatever every year before they even hit a ball. A case of 'Little children help mother' I believe. Ok then I get the silly gripe, yes but if a member is in 2 / clubs he gets free birdage in all three clubs. :-/ :-/ Of course, and that is no different in sending 5 to three club, or 15 to one.... But MOST that aren't in more than one club feel that they are missing out! :-/ :-/ :o We must, as far as I am concerned, look after the moher ship first, I.e. the Fed. without that racing would be very hard, except for the so - called nationals! S

Glad I didn't send, and not sending again this week.
-
We pay £128 all in, that's fees and free birdage. Fine, no prob there. But then to fly the races I'm interested in costs that same as the NRCC or National etc. Might as well just send direct and save the £128. In deed the £128 would in it's self pay for a lot of the races without having to fork out twice. so 10 less at £128 = £1280 divided by the 19 members left :-/ Whereas they could have and should have been fair and every one paid the £130 -£135 each :o Called greed and cutting the nose of to spite the face.
-
Plus the Club fees etc. and Raffle prizes we donate, and the three money raisers I do a year to raise funds for their' winnings... which again is mostly divided into the sprint and middle distance races. Yep sorry I got sharp... gave them another chance we did... but I am glad I must be stupid.... OR rather acting upon the ligh being shone eh!
-
As usual Bigda you are deliberately missing the point. Point being that ALL RACES, regardless of distance should be covered, not then say Ah, but as only a few send the Distance will vote that you pay the lot of them races your self.... So it is in reality, WE want you to substiside our races that we are interested in as you ARE A MEMEBR of club, but we vote not to pay another £5 per season to support the races you are interested in! Yes as a club member EWVERYONE should pay the same regardless how many and what distance they want to fly! Another reason why now 7 have left and just fly the NRCC and NFC or MNFC. so now that is £910 they don't get and have to fork out the extra, and another 4 - 5 of us next season will add another £650 that they will have to find... Yep selfish and short sighted that... And yes we will then just pay for the races we enter without the extra subsisties to NOT fly their Sprint and Middle distance races. Yep a clever lot to be sure!
-
Many still do .... a darn site better than Electro's and that's for sure.... Indeed Mollasses actually do good and help a mite.
-
None.... and Bigda I have paid regardless whether I send of not. No problem there then.... :-/ :-/ But the others SPRING AND Middle distance Boys won't pay an extra couple of quiddies for me, and other distance men to sen. Now Bigda just who is paying the piper :-/ :-/ ... We certainly are not getting the tune we paid for, and definately are bolstering up theSprint boys, and the Middle distance men. As a club member, fully paid up member EVERY member should have, and are entitled to the say priveledges and benefits as ANY one else. Seem the sprint boys not only want their cake and eat.... we distance boys help pay for it!
-
I fly distance only... Ok my choice. But what choice do I have when majority vote in one payment for all races regardless of birds sent :-/ :-/ None. So then they say 'But for the distance races over 400 they will not count :-/ :-/ So though not interested, like a few more in sprint and Middle I have to substiside their races? Surely - as last season I sent 10 to Thurso full stop, and no y/b's Cost in real terms £150. I must be a cheap skate too. Paid again this year.... but hopefully will race a bit more, and also y/b's which I personally have little to no time for. So my gripe is 'S fine for me to help pay for your races, but it's Tough crap and bully for us and stuff you regards your races'? :-/ :-/ :-/ Should be that of the £128 collected for the season's races it should be £134 and ALL races regardless what distance. A fair minded and realistic club of genuine members would vote (should vote) that way! :o

Yes, like my dad always said, and I totally agree, you FEEL good music, and yes tears are all in order .... feel sorry for those that don't feel and shed them.

Ever wondered .......... Why the sun lightens our hair, but darkens our skin? Why women can't put on mascara with their mouth closed? Why you don't ever see the headline: "Psychic Wins Lottery"? Why "abbreviated" is such a long word? Why Doctors call what they do "practice"? Why you have to click on "Start" to stop Windows XP? Why lemon juice is made with artificial flavour, and dishwashing liquid is made with real lemons? Why the man who invests all your money is called a "Broker"? Why there isn't mouse flavoured cat food? Who tastes dog food when it has a "new & improved" flavour? Why Noah didn't swat those two mosquitoes? Why they sterilise the needle for lethal injections? Why they don't make the whole plane out of the material used for the indestructible black box? Why sheep don't shrink when it rains? Why they are called apartments when they are all stuck together? If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of progress? Why they call the airport "the terminal" if flying is so safe? and in case you need further proof that the human race is doomed because of stupidity, here are some actual label instructions on consumer goods…… On a Myer hairdryer: "Do not use while sleeping." On a bag of Crisps: You could be a winner! No purchase necessary. Details inside. On a bar of Palmolive soap: "Directions: Use like regular soap." On some frozen dinners: "Serving suggestion: Defrost." On Nanna's Tiramisu dessert (printed on bottom): "Do not turn upside down." On Marks & Spencer Bread Pudding: "Product will be hot after heating On packaging for a K-Mart iron: "Do not iron clothes on body On Boot's Children Cough Medicine: "Do not drive a car or operate machinery after taking this medication On Nytol Sleep Aid: "Warning: May cause drowsiness On most brands of Christmas lights: "For indoor or outdoor use only On a Japanese food processor: "Not to be used for the other use." On Nobby's peanuts: "Warning: contains nuts." On an American Airlines packet of nuts: "Instructions: Open packet, eat nuts" On a child's superman costume: "Wearing of this garment does not enable you to fly." On a Swedish chainsaw: "Do not attempt to stop chain with your hands or genitals

And not just football fans, any and all sporting fans, and a great amount of the public. I see the ground is open free for folks to attend, or go and pay respects. Yes, mine and many others thoughts will be with them.
-
Wind with East in it .... no good for man or beast. I'll just let mine loft fly for a while longer. Shalln't even train, let alone race them. Yes the ole cock or hen to keep in averages etc. Another reason I miss the first race or two.... Too many lose too many good birds for both reasons.

Well not really into this topic. Though I will say that what lenwadebob says, and not implied there was more than one that wouldn't let it rest, and sad to say, Timbarra wasn't the first of many disruptive crao, as BW was often the instigator. Fairs fair.... but that is not to say - and I certainly don't know - that that is the casse for Timbarra going again! But often two clash, personalities, or whatever reason, the sad thing is that often it is nit picking and pointless 'POINT scoring and one upmanship. In end, niether party gain oat, and most posters get bogged down reading worthless and senile tripe! Now that is the sad fact! P.s should BW go as well.... no, I see no benefit, only a detrimental happening to the site. have enough of them of late. That you must all agree with! :-/

Shouldn't give a fickled rats *expletive removed* matey. Droppings change with feed, weather, unrest, etc. etc. and are different texture and colour at different times of day and night. Too much is read into droppings I believe. Me! I'd be more interested in whether the eyes sparkled and shone, were alert or they was wearing eye liner. Watch them on the roof tops matey, they they shout out at you if anything is the matter with them! If one is huddled up, fluffed up like etc. tells you more that THAT one has a problem.... possible Toxin or going light etc. THEN in the morning chech THAT birds dropping... as you know where it perches and who's dropping are what!
-
Yep, dale rod to perch on, and a rabbit or gueanea pig left running around the floor. Won't hurt them none, they just nip over to say hello if they go on the floor and of course up they fly. Just a drop leave shelve when feeding and water. If closed up individually of course they only mate / tread then when out which is seldom to say the least if after flying keen to get in. So though some don't care, others do.

Must be loverly to be so popular .. unless like me it's mostly 'Hate mail' lol ;) ;D ;D ;D

Yes. I lost a hen last Thurso smash. She had won the scottish averages three times on her own, three times only day bird, season before last, was only day birds with two of her daughters in one club, and 2 out of three day birds inother club were also her daughters. Was retiring her this last season, indeed it would have been her last race, and it was sadly... Also lost some other proven distance birds. That was rough to say the least. I sent 10, none in race time, only 5 in Fed were in race time and 7 in the Algamation. Had two returned a few days later. Still, I was flying them all out except 3 so now have two 3 yo's I never thought I'd have - if not the others, but thats racing I guess. Yes was very lightly tossed and just two wing opening races... so all were in great condition. LIKE hundreds more I guess, and several hundreds that perhaps weren't. These of course are still lost, and only had 19 reported last count, though of course a few more now no doubt, well I'd hope.
-
Well weren't till you 'Opened The Box' lol ;D ;D
-
Like I say pigeons never forget.... a fallacy to think otherwise, as indeed so many of us hear tales as such regularly. Birds - outside of a smah phenomiium, are not conditioned to return, or simply not happy with the set up and bog off. Simple as that I guess. Birds, like a hen I had till this week past, flew the Thurso / Lerwicks / Bergerac, indeed last year before did two bergerac, a Thurso and Frazerbugh in a matter of a few weeks ... lost her f first chuck this last week! Go figure, and was on youngsters! Any one from above, or hawked. Had till this season a Red chequer that only once had a night out - Pau - from any race.... never got home on day, often a few days when tossed upto 40 miles... Go figure eh!
