Hi Billy thanks for letting me visit and our chat ( not that i got a word in lol , only joking Billy ) , Glad guy was appreciative , glad to hear bird returned had to fly 10 mile up like from Hull but better to fly from the south than north , if more folk did the same there be more fanciers , many folk pack up when an old favorate goes , or cant put up with the huge losses
  16. True there werent originaly Irish , however the strain / ybs are born and bred there so i would claim there Irish as it would say on there rings
  17. Have heard of the Irish renowned distance strain of racing pigeons 'The Walkingshaws' and had handled 2 of them i would love a pair or 2 to try out, but your correct in your assumption , i have never heard of limerick tumblers , unless you mean a glass of Guiness , so kiate please do tell me and the other interested fanciers , how do these birds perform ? many thanks Mark
  18. Non :-) , aint picked one up fer ages , well since the ets debate was in every dam article. However i must say the bhw was my fav of the 2 .
  19. poor performance is down to the following things : 1) Fancier / management 2) Poor Quality birds 3) Location 4) Drag of the fed 5) Wind Direction 6) Poor ventilation 7) Overcrowding 8) Birds not been able to rest 9) Feeding 10) Watering 11) Bad Observation 12) Lack of Immunity in loft / illness 13) Over treating

i picked a bird from Goole when i went up to Billy Wilson and sent it to Hull to get it home , i treat all pigeons that come in as if they were my own . I do it because birds can make a mistake but one mistake doesnt make a bad bird

I think taking the birds nearer home reduces strays just been kicked out from loft to loft and end up in town centres increasing there population , and encouraging more race birds to join them , keep the stray return up ( good on you ) i take stray N.E.H.U and SU birds from Scarborough up to Sunderland , many times thankless but i feel that i have done my bit to keep the sport going
  22. must be me then ( imagines pigeons with muffed feet doing a riverdance over there corn ) ;D
