As a lad i used to frequent Green Lane allotment in Acomb in York , an old girlfriends father had an allotment there , so i used to go along and there were a few gents with birmingham rollers , every now and again i would be given one unfortunately the allotments are no longer there and made way for new housing , but i spent many hours at the old allotments watching these birds flying high and rolling , I've always had a soft spot for rollers The Cats of Freebird are in Scotland , as said these would be my choice in the current bop climate , beautiful birds loads of colours , and better still great little performers that fly

blinking of eyes is usually lack of water , as for the foaming never seen it or heard of it better to get them checked out by a vet than guessing , as for treating as long as approved by a vet that's fine , but if treating healthy birds for ailments they don't have your going to have birds of a weak constitution , then when ailments do arise you'l find the over use of drugs in the past will give you a double blow because they wont be as effective as the flocks strains of diseases would become resistant , not had one young bird go back , i have also not treated a bird prior to breeding , if there not ailing they don't need treating , there can be a number of factors why your ybs have failed , but the ybs get there immunity from there parents if these are striped of there natural immunity , there's not much chance of producing healthy ybs

I quite like beetroot , but only thing turned red would be my tongue , as to say im fooled im certainly not as Jam suggested go ask the lads on the falcons sites how they worm there birds perhaps these are lying as well :emoticon-0136-giggle: :emoticon-0136-giggle: , I'm certainly not trying to down folks from doing there bit to protect there birds i'm just trying to ensure these bops arent fed a seasoned diet that's going to help there numbers , like Jam has already stated he's provided bops drinking , you've stated bops can secrete large salt amounts so the salt lard things out of the window the wormer used by falconers so I'll bow out of this as i already know credible ways the ways you suggested other than the glass tank doesn't work and i cant believe you can say one thing and contradict it with your own post somewhat looks more than foolish and uncredible

In birds that regularly eat a diet high in salt or drink salt solutions, the nasal glands increase in size. The only land birds with active nasal glands are some desert species such as the ostrich, and many birds of prey. I've seen a few ways that work for bops , i'll stick to what i know , as the bit above in your own words you've included bops , JAM has shown wild bops drinking so can discount that as well , as for using wormer on birds brilliant idea everyone that decides to use this will help bops to be without worms , as these bop men use them to worm there own birds :emoticon-0179-headbang: :emoticon-0179-headbang:

this post suggests bops can cope with large amounts of salt as you state ???, so where's the use of larding and salting birds ?????

I wouldn't want to drink it that's for certain , i always keep a bottle in shed to fill car up But i'm sure RSPCA are on ball if cats got hold of this on there mouses they catch could be lethal or otherwise such cases wouldn't arise

have done 21 days in the past but i think 24 days is nearer my move time
-
some birds vary so there's no set age to remove them i find if there leaving the nest bowl its time to put a feed pot in as soon as there eating they can be moved at this stage they normally have most of the under wing minus a few feathers to complete the wing i think 24 to 28 days is about average but does differ in strains , but i feel you need to make weaning as stress free on the ybs and best way is to ensure feeding first , then you know there ready to look after themselves

the hardest part of a bird flying is the take off and needs enough uplift to get of the ground , yes i believe muscles wont be strong after the lock up and in order to build muscle the muscles have to damage creating microscopic tears in the muscle which needs protein and calcium to repair , so only thing i can think of is the birds diet needs to be correct to make sure there not too fat before forcing exercise upon them and give plenty of calcium and protein to get them to fitness , the only thing i could think of is these birds have been treated with antibiotics , the antibiotics stop the immune system from working whilst the drug deals with the problem .After a course of antibiotics you should follow up with a probotic my probotic of choice is Live Natural yoghurt , Brewers yeast has every possible vitamin your birds need , and a product im never without

Well done Paul :emoticon-0137-clapping: :emoticon-0137-clapping:

not been funny but muscle problems are usually calcium linked or a lack of b12 can cause cramps i would add some live yoghurt to there feed and brewers yeast , make up there feed one meal a head and give them it , hopefully that should sort you out and e-coli oregio - stim is good

well done Gail :emoticon-0137-clapping: :emoticon-0137-clapping:

Firstly thank you for trying to help this bird , in order to help you we need the full ring number it will start with the country which is GB THEN THE YEAR , THEN A LETTER then more numbers , then we can help trace the owner , perhaps if you tell us where you are a member maybe be able to collect and look after this bird for you until the owner claims it

Well done :emoticon-0137-clapping:
