Druid Lofts Posted March 11, 2018 Report Posted March 11, 2018 Put my yb's out this morning at 10.30,only out 5 min and a Peregrine went right through them, closed the loft up at 6pm,not a bird in sight, absolutely gutted. Lost 3 yearnings only a few weeks ago when the Sparrowhawk struck. My first season not even had a race yet and I'm suffering all these losses.

Kyleakin Lofts Posted March 11, 2018 Report Posted March 11, 2018 Paul, it is tough at this time of year because the hens in particular are feeding up ready for when they sit their nests. At that time they are dependent on the cocks bringing them food.
eastcoaster Posted March 11, 2018 Report Posted March 11, 2018 (edited) Devistating mate feel for for you , if you want a few ybs give me a shout .I have just put my race birds together you can have the full round off them but must say they are 90% longer distance bred birds , all you need do is supply the rings. paddymac Posted March 12, 2018 Report Posted March 12, 2018 Had a pair at my yearling team at lunch-time today, gave up after a few failed dives. Birds are still a bit jumpy but still flying around the loft.
