but loft location helped with that , there is a few guys up there ,if the nationals were still one and Peter was doing what he's doing just now in a one big national then yes I would say he's the best , outstanding fancier and on hearing the ( this is your life tribute) at the SNRPC outing it's absolutely incredible what he's done with his pigeons . Country mile no.

How can you say that he’s excellent yes no question on that but country mile behave yourself

Unfortunately the original post states from 500 miles. For me there can only be one best and that simply has to be J and A Donaldson.

Even fanciers like Paul Swindell have used these bloodlines to enhance their distance capability.

If you look at my original post I stated results wise,I then went on to say that I don’t believe you can say who is the best due to different locations.I don’t know how many channel races Peter has won in both organisations but it must be some amount,so for me he’s right at the very top

If you want day doos at 500ml go east or south of Scotland if you need 2 day doos go north or west of Scotland results in any national organisation in Scotland over 500ml shows the percentage of doos where there timed & you will see who's dominating cheers

Trouble for us up here is that Jim & Ann Donaldson are Dynamite at all Distances both in Old bird or Young bird racing !! Great fanciers

Starter...WF Van Nuil. The King....E Hodgson & Son....SJ Irving jnr...John Bosworth....Crees.....Bilsland...Thomson....

John Meechan...Donaldson....Baldie....Duthie and we ain't scratched the surface....Hay....Jamieson ....Kinnear and on and on

Stevie as you rightly say loads of good distance fanciers throughout Scotland all get their turn with an individual good pigeon at the time .

For my choice got to be your uncle Dal ,for someone who each year breeds 30 youngsters trains them then disposes of what does not come up to his standards prior to the first race ,the remaining birds fly the entire programme and then compete from the national if he is left with 1,2 or 3 those are the birds that are wintered ,He then races those birds every week his national positions from 500 miles for as long as I can remember are outstanding 1st and 3rd open with hoddam dynamo springs to mind

Not many fanciers in Scotland could winter 12 to 20 pigeons total and compete as he does
