REDCHEQHEN Posted January 18, 2017 Report Posted January 18, 2017 I have been changing car insurance companies every year for the last 5 years as the renewal has always been excessive. I was pleasantly surprised this year the renewal had only gone up £12 on last years, so haven't bothered "shopping around". Do other members always shop around or just stick to the same insurance - online or use a broker? Fully comp insurance with protected no claims - renewal was £156 Could I do better?
greenlands Posted January 18, 2017 Report Posted January 18, 2017 Mine's about the same but I never accept their renewal price and ALWAYS get a good reduction, also cheaper with having my house insurance with them.
Upsndoons Posted January 18, 2017 Report Posted January 18, 2017 Last year we had four cars to insure and at the time were with one of the well known multi car providers. When renewal came the increase in cost was huge and we decide the kids could get their own insurance and thus I could shop around. We saved a fortune. It is standard practice now a day for automatic renewals to be hiked up annual charge and if you don't check the cost can come as a nasty surprise. Also, make sure you are comparing all the add on charges, such as voluntary excess, windscreen replacement, legal fee cover, courtesy car etc. as these have a nasty habit of being hidden costs which bite you when something happens ( God Forbined )Sounds a good price for a years cover but depends on what is included. Cheers

REDCHEQHEN Posted January 19, 2017 Author Report Posted January 19, 2017 £117 with Saga? The next 'best' is £150 Saga seems very low (though I have been insured with them before)

By the way, what is your postcode?
