Had our club secretary on the phone last week, asking did I want to attend a pre-season get together / dinner for club members this Friday night ? It's not club funded, each member paying individually. Must have been discussed at AGM, which I couldn't attend. Never heard of this before, so I said yes. We only have 7 members in total, 2 are very doubtful, so that leaves 5! Really intrigued!! Does your club do anything pre-season, like this ?

when back in Wales we used to have a "mid-season get together" after the last inland race and before the first youngbird race . a lot of other members from other clubs within the fed would attend too . :emoticon-0123-party:

When I was Federation Secretary In 2000 I organised a pre race dinner in a top class hotel with Rod Adams the guest speaker. It attracted 100 fanciers at £20 per head and was extremely successful garnering nearly £1,000 for Fed funds. Prior to me taking over, the annual Dinner and Dance was always held in working mens Clubs which would only attract about 40 guests but on moving up market it was a sell out. When I was removed they went back to the old locations and are struggling to flog a ticket at a fiver.
