Stu3y Posted September 7, 2015 Report Posted September 7, 2015 final young bird national race is at the weekend, what would you do to prepare for that? they have been coming pretty well all season usually 3rd or 4th club.. what can I do this week to up their game a little bit? i still take them down the road 25 miles twice a week, should i do that again this week? also corn wise, they have been getting gerry plus all week, with some champion plus on thursday night... should this be changed abit for the distance?
rigglad Posted September 7, 2015 Report Posted September 7, 2015 if you feel your flying ok a would not change a thing
William Reid Posted September 8, 2015 Report Posted September 8, 2015 JMHO would have given them DOXY-T Monday and Tuesday. But now would give them two days on natural yogurt added to the water
novo10 Posted September 8, 2015 Report Posted September 8, 2015 if you feel your flying ok a would not change a thing Why not add peanuts
Wiley Posted September 8, 2015 Report Posted September 8, 2015 238 miles is a sprint race, if the system is successful why change anything? The only thing i would do is try to motivate the birds more, but that requires more information on what is happening in your loft to tell ya what you could do.

REDCHEQHEN Posted September 8, 2015 Report Posted September 8, 2015 Basket Thursday now for a Friday race far too short a time between races - they're only babies after all - they just raced Sunday following a holdover

novo10 Posted September 8, 2015 Report Posted September 8, 2015 don,t sort what,s not broken, good luck with them Got to be feed appropriately pigeons need fuel
Wiley Posted September 8, 2015 Report Posted September 8, 2015 If it was a 238 mile race over the channel would you still advise the same. Tony, as you know i dont race south road, but a few members on the site have followed my system that race south road, and followed it to the tea and theyve had results theyve never achieved before, and thats flying in the West Section of Scotland, and In Waterford in Ireland. So when i eventually do go south road i would class 238 mile as a sprint race and feed according to it being a sprint race
Stu3y Posted September 16, 2015 Author Report Posted September 16, 2015 clocked 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 10th club 11th, 22nd, 23rd, 25th 26th and 28th fed, quite happy with that for my 1st ever combine national race!
