rabbit229 Posted June 3, 2015 Report Posted June 3, 2015 Yes that's right. One of my pigeons has exploded all its guts out of its ****! How do I put pics up so you all can see ? The bird was a youngster I got from some one at weekend. The bird was fine this morning and as I just went to the loft' in side away from predators and sharp objects. The bird was stood there' alive! With a big rip from near the vent ( 3 inch rip ) with its insids hanging out.Loads of blood splayed in one corner of the shed as tho its insids exploded. Has any one heard of out like this before? I'm wondering if it had some sort of illness?

OLDYELLOW Posted June 3, 2015 Report Posted June 3, 2015 Could of had a cyst or something similar as these can explode , but never heard of a pigeon exploding , rodent perhaps or did it catch itself on something in the loft or just rip as stood very strange indeed nearly to the point of been unbelievable , had a hen once that had a prolapse womb and insides came out , but no rip .....
clockman Posted June 3, 2015 Report Posted June 3, 2015 At least didn't spontaneously combust !!!! your bang on
peter pandy Posted June 3, 2015 Report Posted June 3, 2015 If thats a gap between the floor and wall then its probably been a rat !! Get it fixed pronto with a bit of strapping.
TheHigg Posted June 3, 2015 Report Posted June 3, 2015 Maybe sounds stupid but it could have got caught on the crack on top of the blue drinker If thats a gap between the floor and wall then its probably been a rat !! Get it fixed pronto with a bit of strapping.
OLDYELLOW Posted June 3, 2015 Report Posted June 3, 2015 yup looking more rodent than exploding or the sharp plastic drinker
rabbit229 Posted June 4, 2015 Author Report Posted June 4, 2015 Blood sprayed like it popped, very strange
TheHigg Posted June 4, 2015 Report Posted June 4, 2015 Blood on the top and around the drinker also the other youngsters don't look as if they have been tormented by an intruder
rabbit229 Posted June 5, 2015 Author Report Posted June 5, 2015 It was a black fat cat! Was under the loft other day. Holes are blocked of now. I want to tell that cat what I think about its silly mistakes !!! Well my friend dose
peter pandy Posted June 5, 2015 Report Posted June 5, 2015 I think you will find the mistakes were all yours for leaving gaps in the floor for anything to get in and we all learn by our mistakes.
TheHigg Posted June 5, 2015 Report Posted June 5, 2015 That blows my theory right out the water I'd still ditch the drinker though :emoticon-0138-thinking:
paddymac Posted June 5, 2015 Report Posted June 5, 2015 Sorry peterAs Peter said its a lesson learned and at least you identified the problem and took measures to ensure it wont happen again
kingziemckay Posted June 5, 2015 Report Posted June 5, 2015 It was a black fat cat! Was under the loft other day. Holes are blocked of now. I want to tell that cat what I think about its silly mistakes !!! Well my friend dose If it was a cat?? How did it get in to the loft?
paddymac Posted June 5, 2015 Report Posted June 5, 2015 If it was a cat?? How did it get in to the loft? The cat didn't get into the loft, there was a gap in the floor where the cat clawed the Yb
peter pandy Posted June 5, 2015 Report Posted June 5, 2015 Sorry peter Please dont appologise as we all make mistakes and hopefully learn from them. I am just surprised some did not mention that if you gave them beans they would form gas and blow their asre off LOL.
rabbit229 Posted June 6, 2015 Author Report Posted June 6, 2015 The cat still make a mistake in my eyes. It killed my baby and my 177 wants revenge. All I've been reading is to make it well vented so that's what I did. I never expected a preditor like a cat would get through an inch gap in the floor? Would most? Any how one lesson learned my my mistake also
