BIGPETE
Mother was a black slight pied x red cheq father. So could be a lot of things, but was just curious if anyone knew. 99% of the team are blue's n cheqs so this one fairly stands out haha. Wiley
Lol pete, I don't know where these other fanciers mark their pigeons, but if you was marking your birds in London, we'd think you was taking the Micky tryna mark a wood pigeon, but saying that a red or mealy is rare down in the big smoke
Rolldowns54
Ash red and black criss cross the colours when paired together if father is red bird in picture has to be hen
indigobob1
The ash-red spread baby from a pairing of black hen and red chequer cock could be either sex. The sex-linked mating between these two colours would be blue/black cock X ash red hen; all ash-red (spread ash, barless mealy, ash-red chequer, etc.) progeny would be cocks, the blues would be hens.Any black flecking/ticking on the above squeaker would indicate that it is a cock, ash-red hens occasionally have brown/dun flecking.
