Yip. Rice,hemp and linseed mix is my trapping mix.

An old fancier once told me that it aids with recovery after race as the reaction between water and rice in the crop stops the bird gorging and the water held in the rice aids rehydration. Have done this for years

Same here Lindsay, I feed it to the birds going to the channel, as you've already said it holds water longer so has to be beneficial to the birds in the longer races :animatedpigeons:

Yep ... especially before the long races etc. Found it was beneficial - JMO Personally - to soak it over night. Basket mornings I would add a little lemon juice and they went / go with crops well full.
