WHEN A POST IS DELETED BY A MODERATOR, IT IS ONLY PUT INTO THE DELETED ITEMS FOLDER, WHICH IS THEN SEEN BY ALL MODERATORS AND WEBMASTER, THIS IS SO IF IT IS DECIDED THAT IT COULD BE PERMITED THEN IT COULD BE PUT BACK, ITS A SAFETY THING MORE SO WHEN THE WEBMASTER IS AWAY AND NOT ON SITE, BUT IT IS A PIGEON FORUM AND NOT TO SETTLE CLUB FED OR UNION ARGUMENTS THE ORGANISATIONS AGMs ARE THE PLACE FOR THAT, I DO NOT KNOW ABOUT HYACINTHS POST SEE NOTHING WRONG WITH IT BUT MABE HYACINTH IT WAS SOMETHING WHICH WAS ADDED BY SOMEONE ELSE, TWO OR THREE TIMES LATELY THE WEBMASTER HAS BEEN AWAY AND COME BACK TO SEE POST WHICH WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE AND MEMBERS FALLING OUT ETC AND HAD TO SORT IT OUT, JUST LIKE NOW HE HAS BEEN AWAY AND IF MODERATORS WERE NOT HERE LOOK AT THE JOB HE WOULD HAVE, THE DEBATE REGARDING WHAT WA IN THE BHW AND RP IS BEING DELT WITH BU THE CONFEDERATION AND THE UNIONS SO I WOULD THINK THEY ARE THE BEST ONES TO DEAL WITH IT AND NOT ON THE FORUM WHERE IT JUST STARTS MEMBERS AIRING THERE DISLIKES AND NAME CALLING. LETS JUST TALK AND RACE PIGEONS TO ENJOY IT AND IN WHAT EVER ORGANISATION U BELONG THE CLUBS FEDS AND UNIONS ARE THERE TO SORT OUT THE PROBLEMS. AND U ALL HAVE REPS AT THEN ALL.

There have been some particularly offensive posts of late - and by that I mean swearing and explicit sexual innuendo - which is just not on - your political debates are a bore to me - and I don't read them when you all 'go off on one', when personal attacks are made on the forum - I also think that is a no, no - its not the place is it ? Some of you do know each other, I don't know any of you, but there are potentially millions of people out there who can access this site to look at whats going on - and sometimes the minority are extremely 'unprofessional' in their writings.

 

Just my views - there is a report button on each message - and I have used it....!!!!   :P

As for my posting vanishing, I was beginning to think that I was having an early attack of senile dementia and not had made the posting, until another member of the forum PM's me and let me know he saw it after I posted.

 

I know there have been several problems with the site over the weekend and I've a feeling my post went awol into cyber space during one of these problem periods. Well that's what I hope

read your pm yonks aqo bruno was not to impressed by your logic especially as you have now posted it in full. the point i was trying to make is why should we listen to people who have already packed up the birds when they seem to be actively campaigning to have people who still want to race pigeons banned.

 

Whats the betting one or two of the members will  be posting a thread in the near future called something like "how do we attract more members into the fancy before the sports dies" Well we could alwas make a start by stopping banning people for periods of time like 10 or 20 years. As i have said before on here you literally serve less time in jail for murder.

Thats what I think me and Alf was saying ....for the record what ME posted I answered its gone too.For the record I responded by saying all folk need to do in the majority of cases was pay your dues, lift the debt suspension and fly with whoever you like.

 

All the Fanciers that stayed had to pay up for the those walkers and most did not put a letter of resignation in.The Fed and SHU only receive this information from the Clubs via the Fed so it is their former Clubs in the first instance  thats where the problems of reconcilliation lie

 

I dont want to see anybody particularly banned ...well at least not just for debt suspension . My point, it is very sortable. Whether those that are on the "list" will pay .... :o ego and pride :'( :'(

 

I also advised that this is a confed and if folk like ME are not happy they should get in touch with their RPRA rep and get representation or at least a hearing.

 

For the personal attack ...some people dont/cant debate an issue but do get personal... often not skilled enough to debate the issue :'( more to be pitied than got mad at 8)

Hello!

 

As a result of the forum expanding as it has (more than 150 posts posted each day now) I feel it is time to expand our moderation team.

 

In the past my thought has been to do it myself and try and keep an even hand over all aspects of the moderation, however there comes a time that it is not practical or possible for me to be reading every posting, every day - if not sometimes needed sooner.

 

I will soon be contacting a few of our senior members (been with the site a long time/have posted quality consistently - nothing to do with age ) to become moderators. This doesn't involve anything out of the ordinary if you are asked to participate; you can still view the forum as much or as little as you did before and there is no obligation to read every topic. The moderation bit comes in only when you come across a 'problematic' post (help advice and details given) which you will be able to deal with.

 

I feel with a team of trusted members from the forum checking aspects of the forum, an almost 24/7 coverage will be achieved, and hope that this may lead to nipping some of the problems in the bud.

 

As I said, there is no obligation if you are a moderator to be tied to the website, and you don't just need to think it's about the forum; I'll hopefully be running ideas and new features for Pigeonbasics past moderators first, and other areas of administration may be requested.

 

One thing I don't want is for anyone to have a gripe at who are moderators, because I hope that there will be a wide cross-section of the fancy; therefore I will not be publishing any list of names. And indeed I hope the team of moderators does not need to do any moderating, however they will be there as a safeguard.

 

If you don't get a message to become a moderator, but think you have what it takes, please contact me via the usual details; however I will be inviting people to be part of the moderation team as a matter of course from now on in, this isn't a one off appointment; so stick in, keep posting, and you'll be noticed .

the fifer doesn't know his right from his left............... its on the right hand side  - right of the 'quote' button as you look at the screen, you 'click' on it, and you get the option of objecting to that message or the whole thread, and put your reasons why.

 

when it is somebody elses post you only see quote and report 'buttons'
