PS THE CLUB THAT I AM IN IS HOLYTOWN
andy Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 UNFORTUNATELY THESE THINGS HAPPEN ALL OVER NOWADAYS LIVERPOOL BOY. YOU SAID THE 5 MEMBERS LEFT ARE ALL YOUR OWN FAMILY, ARE YOU ALL THE HIGHEST PRIZEWINNERS IN THE CLUB? IE:YOUR FAMILY WIN MOST OF THE RACES, OR COULD IT BE MORE PERSONAL, WHAT U THINK?

andy Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 MMMM.. SOUNDS COMPLICATED IF OTHERS ARE ALSO WINNING RACES, MAYBE YOU AND OTHER MEMBERS SHOULD CONFRONT THEM AND ASK WHY. WHATS TO LOSE?
AlanWilkins Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 Ok ill put my two pennys worth in if a meeting was called and every member wasnt notified about it the meeting is out of order and any thing passed the region will throw out I think it boils down to 1 thing 99% talk a good pigeon but in the ends there just cowards
showman Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 Agree with Alan, meeting was a non-starter, and totally out of order, if it was called under the banner of your club, Holytown. However, if it was just a meeting amongst fanciers to discuss forming a new club, and not under the Holytown name, I fear there is nothing that can be done. Advise you approach your region for next step. I sympathise with you Liverpool Boy, and hope it can be resolved in an amicable fashion. Paul.
Henrik Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 Dont think there is much you can do if they are staeting a completly new club but if they are going to take the assets of the Holytown club with them then you should have had notification of the meeting. Suggest you fone Linda at the SHU tmorrow and let them know whats goin on and also the officials of Lanarkshire Fed as IM sure they will be interested as if its a new club they will be wanting to affiliate to the Fed I suppose or are they gnna break away altogether and go with the RPRA in which case I would advise you to change the locks etc on your clubrooms and keep a hold on any trophies etc that you may have.
unclealbert Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 THIS SORT OF THING IS HAPPENING ALL TO OFTEN. I BELIEVE IT IS TIME FOR OUR GOVERNING BODIES TO STEP IN AND STOP THE ROT, AND WE WONDER WHY GOOD FANCIERS ARE LEAVING THE SPORT.

THE FIFER Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 AGREE ITS TIME THE GOVERNING BODIES GOT TOGETHER AND PUT AN END TO ALL THIS, CLUBS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO SLIT JUST BECAUSE THEY DO NOT LiKE SOMEONE ETC
Guest ben Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 Hi Liverpool boy, You should have jumped before you were pushed, now you have learned a hard lesson, don`t have a clock set in your club, just use your club races up to around 300 as training ,and hit the nationals hard. You carry on clocking in club racing, and you`ll have NO club left,Then how you going to get your preparation in?
Guest WINGS 04 Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 BEN THIS IS OR 5TH YEAR FLYING AND YOU ARE SAYING NOT TO SET A CLOCK HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO STOP SETTING YOUR CLOCK.AS WE ARE STILL WILLING TO PUT IN THE WORK AND WIN CLUB RACES WE HAVE ALSO WON OUR SECTION IN THE SNFC FROM NEWBURY AT OUR FIRST TRY AT THE OLD BIRD RACING WE FLY FOR TROPHIES NOT FOR MONEY WE ARE WILLING TO PUT THE WORK IN TO GET THE RESULTS SHOULD WE BE PUNISHED FOR THIS MOST OF THESE MEMBERS HAVE MORE THAN ( TEN YEARS+ ) EXPERIENCE ON US SO SHOULD THEY NOT SET CLOCKS EITHER WE ARE ONE OF ONLY TWO NEW STARTS IN THE CLUB IN THE LAST FOUR YEARS
jimmy white Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 one word ,,,,jealousy, the other members should be trying harder, and not taking the cowards way out,,, thats what competition should be... fifers spot on in his post. this is happening far to often, your every ones pal when your last every week ,but try and win????
Guest Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 This is \ topic that really p***** me off. Someone mention there not to get a clock set, now what is the point in that? everyone sends to win. so your pigeon comes and is there to win , but to try and stop people liking you you dont clock it? now if thast is the case, all thos fanciers that cant handle been beating should get the hell out of the sport and go and play bowls or something. we dont need these kind of fanciers in the sport they a spoilinmg it for everyone else. some people just like causing trouble and speading rumors instead of getting on with it. i run a shop in my local town and im a piggy in the middle fanciers ocme in here moaing about this and that and it has got me really anoyyed. so much so i have spoken to my dad this morning and am thinking about calling it a day. i dont need all the hastle. people maoing about this moaning about that, forming new clubs etc. im 21 and have got better things to be doing with my life.
jimmy white Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 IVE TWO FREINDS WITH EMPTY PIGEON LOFTS, PACKED IN A FEW YEARS AGO, REFUSE TO START AGAIN, BECAUSE OF THIS REASON. IM ON THE OUTSIDE, LOOKING IN NOW, [AS IT WERE] AND I CAN HONESTLY SAY, THAT I CAN SEE IT ALL STARING ME IN THE FACE, JEALOUSY, RUMOUR MONGERING ,BITTERNESS,ARGUEMENTS, MOSTLY DONE BY IGNORANCE.IM FORTUNATE TO HAVE, AND KNOW, MANY GENUINE, AND HONEST, AND HELPFULL FANCIERS, I JUST WISH THERE WERE MORE OF THESE,[ FORTUNATELY THERE ARE STILL QUITE A FEW]
Guest ben Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 Hi Wings, It`s nice to win club races, but can`t you see those days are ending fast, there will be no club racing in a few years, just classic and nationals, what`s the point of you saying you put the work in to win those type of races, what for, what does it prove...nothing....it doesn`t mean you got better pigeons, and it certainly doesn`t mean your a better fancier, same as newbury, how can you class that as a national race...200miles...your having a laugh.....try not to buy into that mentality, its a money making gimmic ruining this sport, same as it did for boxing...loads more belts...loads more so called champions, made money short term...but ruined the sport for good...same as all these mickey mouse national winners, money making con....you got the Kings cup to fly for....forget the rest. Gez, What are you talking about,"everone sends to win"who told you that rubbish.
frank-123 Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 ben newburys 350 miles to lanarkshire wings is a top flyer if he likes club racing thats his choice maybe he will go for the nationals where he will send to get his birds warmed up for the national using club racing as many national men doo i dont think hes out to make money or he would not have offerd me free ybs next year
celtic Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 Ben I,m not going to get into a slanging match here but maybe you could take a leaf out of wings book, he flies for trophies not money ,is more than helpful to newcomers like myself, and is one off many good guys in the sport...take a look at your past posts you are all aggression most of the time...chill out.
Guest Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 Cannot comment on rules or individual club disputes. ............ .......but reckon that as a matter of principle a good flyer cannot be removed from any club for being a good flyer. Because surely that is the main reason we join clubs in the first place ... to fly our pigeons really well against all the other members. Agree that people should follow the races and type of racing that they want. I also think there is confusion creeping into the thread about national racing. National is not so much to do with distance ... Federations race 370 miles inland and 518 miles channel races too... the north of Scotland has 400+ miles inland races. Surely it is more to do with large area, in our case against the whole of Scotland, and perhaps, harder competition in a specialist club. Also agree fewer, bigger clubs might help, more and better sportsmen certainly will. (and I think it is a male problem).
