JohnQuinn Posted October 31, 2014 Report Posted October 31, 2014 Was in one of my clients' house yesterday when all hell broke out in the garden. Looked out and there was Percy on the drying green on top of a wee ring necked dove getting mobbed by the Magpies and Crows. Opened the door and Percy bolted leaving the poor dove laying there on the grass, after a minute or two i went to lift it and dispose of the corpse when right out the blue it jumped up and flew off at top speed. I was sure it was dead cos it hadn't moved in all the time i was watching it and no sign of breathing either, but it made ma day when it got up alive and apparently well
greenlands Posted October 31, 2014 Report Posted October 31, 2014 Playing possum John, seen it a few times. There's loads of doves at the mo.they'll get hammered when it gets colder.
JohnQuinn Posted October 31, 2014 Author Report Posted October 31, 2014 Hadn't seen it before yesterday Lindsay, mind you ave no seen a dove caught before but i dare say a doo would act likewise??
Kyleakin Lofts Posted October 31, 2014 Report Posted October 31, 2014 I had a dog that used to round up the chickens and stand them in pile every time he escaped from his run. There would be sticks, bricks, balls, etc and the chicken standing all in the one place. You had to pick them up and stroke them, etc before they would go back about their business. To me, it was shock.Same with the pigeons except sh and percy would come back and finish them off.
