ALF Posted November 17, 2007 Author Report Posted November 17, 2007 DONT THINK IT WOULD MAKE MUCH DIFFERANCE WHAT HAPPENED AT THE AGM REGARDING THE VOTE ON THIS MOTION!!!!
ALF Posted November 17, 2007 Author Report Posted November 17, 2007 BUT THEN AGAIN AS THE RULES IN THE CONSTITUITION OF THE SHU STATE THE "SAID" PRESIDENT OF THE SHU WOULD NOT BE PRESIDENT JUST NOW IF THE RULES HAD BEEN FOLLOWED BUT THEN AGAIN HE WISNAE LONG IN BOLTING FROM OUR FED WHEN HE KNEW HE COULD'NT BE THE PRESIDENT FROM OUR FED ANY LONGER : :
HOMER49 Posted November 17, 2007 Report Posted November 17, 2007 Saw this was a constitutional item and wondered if there was a 'percentage present and voting' rule when voting on Lanarkshire's consitution? Hi Bruno Yes would take a 2/3 majority to change the constitution Cheers Homer 49

ALF Posted November 18, 2007 Author Report Posted November 18, 2007 I THINK IF SOMEONE DOES'NT WANT TO SEND THERE BIRDS DOWN THE WEST ROUTE WITH THE FED THEN THAT IS THEIR PEROGATIVE TO DO WHAT THEY WANT WITH THEIR BIRDS
Guest Posted November 18, 2007 Report Posted November 18, 2007 Don't want to be seen meddling in another Fed's business, but don't want to see another split either. I'd hope that the coming AGM is used positively and that folks do their best to get maximum attendance for it. Note that Solway is still going west route, but would like to introduce Johno's point raised in another thread: SHU spent money - our money - on a piece of research which advised us not to go down the west route because of the density of birds of prey there. What sense is there in going against your Union's advice on this, and risking a split in the Fed, especially when you 'were' already on the east route ?

BRUNO SURELY IT IS UP TO EACH INDIVIDAUL TO DO AS HE OR SHE SO WISHES WITH HIS DOOS ie...RACE THEM DOWN THE WEST ROUTE WITH THE FED OR SEND THEM ANOTHER ROUTE HIMSELF : : :

sammy Posted November 18, 2007 Report Posted November 18, 2007 so as they can race in the open races when the time comes thats why
ALF Posted November 18, 2007 Author Report Posted November 18, 2007 then why do they stay in lanarkshire fed if they do not want to fly with the decisions made in it ? I AND A LOT LIKE ME DONT AGREE WITH THE DECISION MADE AT THE RACE MEETING DOES'NT MEEN I HAVE TO SEND MY DOOS DOWN THAT ROUTE BECAUSE AT THE END OF THE DAY THEY ARE MY DOOS TO DO WITH AS I WANT AND I DONT WONT TO SEND THEM DOWN THE WORST RUOTE IN BRITAIN SO I WONT BE SENDING THEM THAT WAY END OF STORY AND I KNOW THERE IS A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO AGREE WITH ME AND IT IS NOTHING TO DO WITH SPLITTING UP THE FED IT IS DOING WHAT WE THINK IS BEST BY OUR BIRDS!!!
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted November 18, 2007 Report Posted November 18, 2007 so as they can race in the open races when the time comes thats why aye probably
Guest Posted November 18, 2007 Report Posted November 18, 2007 BRUNO SURELY IT IS UP TO EACH INDIVIDAUL TO DO AS HE OR SHE SO WISHES WITH HIS DOOS ie...RACE THEM DOWN THE WEST ROUTE WITH THE FED OR SEND THEM ANOTHER ROUTE HIMSELF : : : That's a pretty difficult one to answer, Alf. In my opinion there are a number of more important issues at stake than individual choice: Federation finances - lowered birdage for 2008, costs remain same. Federation split - lowered membership, higher costs, bad publicity. Authority of governing body - do we listen to them or not? Public perception - backlash on the rest of us when our birds of prey press campaigns backfire on us when our opponents show that some feds are not heeding their own union's advice - and continue to fly unsuitable race corridors.
ALF Posted November 18, 2007 Author Report Posted November 18, 2007 SO BRUNO IF SOMEONE TELLS YOU THAT YOU HAVE TO RACE YOUR YOUNG FROM FRANCE DO YOU JUST SEND THEM??? NO OF COURSE YOU DONT COS YOU'D BE AFF YOUR HEID TO DO IT JUST THE SAME AS WE WOULD BE TO SEND OURS DOWN THE WEST ROUTE THIS COMING YEAR THATS WHY I WONT BE DOING IT AND I DONT CARE WHAT ANYONE THINKS I ONLY CARE ABOUT MY BIRDS AND I WONT SEND THEM THAT ROUTE UNTIL 200 MLS BECAUSE IT IS SUICIDAL!!!!
ALF Posted November 18, 2007 Author Report Posted November 18, 2007 What happened to democracy *expletive removed* DEMOCRACY ;) :P ;D ;D ;D ;D MY BIRDS ARE MORE IMPORTANT TO ME THAN WHAT OTHER PEOPLE WANT TO DO WITH THEIR BIRDS ;) ;) ;) ;)
ALF Posted November 18, 2007 Author Report Posted November 18, 2007 MMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmm MMMMMMmmmmmmnmm!!!!!! MA DOOS STILL URNAE GOING THE WEST ROUTE ;) ;) ;)

No I wsn't suggesting that Alf. Had to face the same decision about my YBs a few years back, but luckily our route was changed back east before OB racing was finished. My main point on 'what will other people think' was that going west when SHU have an application to cull birds of prey before the Scottish Government could jeopardise that application if our opponents can show that the biggest fed in Scotland is going against its governing body's advice not to fly a route [because it's poxed with birds of prey]. And while I fully accept you are taking an honourable stand against your fed's decision, I think others may still lump you with your other Fed members and see 'all' Lanarkshire as a Fed which flies west coast.
jimmy white Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 yER A BUNCH OF NUTTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. all the best scottie hope a lot of your doos dodge the hawks. duncan hifen ewan of the rspb advised fanciers to avoid the west route about 4 years ago , as this route is polluted with perigrines ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,if it was polluted then ,where do the offspring go, in the 4 years since [all perigrines have their terrirory [sometimes overlapping another pairs territory] proven facts now, there are as many all around kelso ,otterburn ,ridsdale, otterburn, carter bar coldstream [we heard of a perigrine attack on a lib only this year ,,then there were rockets set off to deter them ,, the simple truth is they are all over now theres a lot of young perigrines bred off a lot of adult perigrines and have to find their own territory , im not butting in , in any of lanarkshire bussiness , but merely pointing out, the perigrine problem, is also as bad in the east around these parts as anywhere [these areas are also bad for goshawks where there are more of these in these areas than the west , many of the farmers ,gamekeepers will tell you this [read first post on hawks ,,sticky ,,,now prooving hawks winning, fanciers losing ] its time the shoe was on the otherfoot >
