Hello

Back in 2004 was the last time we went down the west in the Lanarkshire fed and there was a big kick up about it back then but after looking back on the results for that year our club sent 295 pigeons to the first race followed by 484, 616, 576, 586 and our 6th race was from Uttoxeter 213 miles sending a total of 482 so going by that year it looks like maybe there is a lot of panicking over nothing this year, as has been said before "Time will tell".

One thing that has changed since 2004 is that the hawks in the east has multiplyed where as down the west there has been no room for the Hawks to multiply in numbers because it was already at saturation levels back that year.

cheers

jimmy you are making a sweeping cmment as to the population of peregines in the east. you have provided no back up records or hard statistics. you assume you know the situation in the west with no reference studies or to any back up. your post is not backed up the way the position against the west route is. everything you say is hearsay and ill informed opinion. gareth you make a huge issue of the numbers of raptors increasing in the east and then go on to highlight the fact that the west route has been saturated since 2004. where are the statistics of the raptor numbers in the east. everything you say about the east route is hearsay and guesswork. the west route on the other hand has been studied by experts of world reknown. to the outsider this is a no brainer. even more so when the ruling and representative body, the SHU backed by the membership spent over £50K recently on a survey showing the west was in effect suicide. how can we ask outsider to support us in trying guard our birds when we as fanciers will not listen to the opinion of experts who formed the opinion using our money as research funding?

Lanarkshire has an AGM for race program in October then a general AGM

Hi

Need some help in understanding the following motion on the agenda for AGM

Rule 21 Of the Constitution. DELETE

Rule 21 states NO MINORITY VOTE CAN WIN IN ANY VOTE TAKEN

strange ????            should any majority vote not win

Cheers

Homer 49

WELL HOMER JUST FOR YOU I PHONED THE FED PRESIDENT AND ASKED HIM WHY HE WANTS TO DELETE RULE 21 AND HE SAID THAT WHY SHOULD WE HAVE A RULE THAT SAYS NO MINORITY CAN WIN IN ANY VOTE TAKEN WHEN IT OBVIOUSLY CAN AS YOU HAVE POSTED IN THIS VERY THREAD IE...2/3'S ARE NEEDED TO CHANGE SOMETHING SO THE MINORITY IN THE VOTE WIN FOR STATUS QUO ;) PS...THEIR IS DEFINETLY NO DICTATORSHIP AND HE ONLY PUT THE MOTION FORWARD AS A RULE THAT SIMPLY DOES'NT NEED TO BE THERE AND NOTHING ELSE....

thanks alf

for going to the bother of phoning our fed president for answers on his proposal for this rule maybe we will hear a reason why we should keep it

then decide at the agm on saturday

Hi Alf

The difference is that a change in the Constitution requires 6 weeks notice and to be on the agenda and this requires a 2/3 majority

Now deleting rule 21 will allow any minority vote to win at the presidents discretion

Why delete rule 21 if it IS CAUSING NO PROBLEMS

Why not  delete rule 33 this rule is unfair and could be discriminatory

where in the rule book does it say you need six weeks notice

as for rule 33 that will stop people moving from one fed to another in doing so protects the fed finances

lanarkshire are going east so delete the rule fanciers maybe just jump onto midland fed who are going east

on thinking on that delete rule 33 ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hi Rab

The above comments are unfair. I attended a meeting last night of the transport committe and you should attend the AGM on Saturday and here ALL the preposils but I will say this Andersons up to last night DO NOT want to transport our pigeons and the president has various suggestions for me to comment on these would not be right

Being in haulage and seen what Andersons charged my only comment would be

CHEAP AS CHIPS

Lanarkshire Fed members welcome to the real world

Any idea why R Richardson wants to purchase the old SL transporter ?

No good for anything except transporting pigeons   ;) ;) ;)
