sammy Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 flew his old birds out to 200 mile alex and only lost one i think in the early races ,he had good returns from yb racing although they had plenty time on the wing for it ,think back to season 2000,2,3 cant remember when but we were down the west side qnd the first couple of races were great and had good returns ,everyone is racing from east and think there is more clashing than what hawks which are not restricted to one area they have supposedly feeding areas of forty miles so how much of the country does that take in
sammy Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 Hi Sammy The RSPB have a loft in the Lead Hills to feed them( true ) They are feed but not watered so they have to seek water Is that 1 or 2 or half Was that y/bs this year for I know they had 3 races from Crawford and thats not 200 but 30 Cheers Homer 49 wel if thats tue then the cruelty people should be involved in it then
Guest Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 Wot are they going to do ,just train the y/bs 30/50miles thats up to them.mine will be tested,If i have 15 out of 50 that have experienced national competition to 240 mls that do for me.
ALF Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR Y/B'S VINNY BUT I WONT BE SENDING MINE DOWN THAT ROUTE NO CHANCE
Guest WINGS 04 Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR Y/B'S VINNY BUT I WONT BE SENDING MINE DOWN THAT ROUTE NO CHANCE ALF ARE YOU JUST BEING A WEE BIT OVERE THE TOP ON THIS DO YOU WANT TO KEEP ALL THE BIRDS THAT YOU BREED AS ONLY 5% OF WHAT WE KEEP ARE ANY GOOD ANYWAY I HAD THE BEST RACING I HAVE HAD FROM THE WEST IN 2004
Guest Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 So what ur saying is we are going to get slaughtered as far as the y/bs are concerened.Experienced birds ,if that is the case will also be subject to this threat, wots the difference, and wot would be your solution. If we all go down this route with no divides surely there is safety in numbers. We [North West Fed] went down the west with the Midland, our last OB race was Stratford-upon-Avon when we got wiped out. After that we reverted East for remaing OB races. There was also a petition put in asking for the YB route to be changed back to East and it was; after that NW flying west coast kinda died a quiet death.
ALF Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 ALF ARE YOU JUST BEING A WEE BIT OVERE THE TOP ON THIS DO YOU WANT TO KEEP ALL THE BIRDS THAT YOU BREED AS ONLY 5% OF WHAT WE KEEP ARE ANY GOOD ANYWAY I HAD THE BEST RACING I HAVE HAD FROM THE WEST IN 2004 DONT THINK I'M BEING OVER THE TOP AT ALL RAB AND AT THE END OF THE DAY NO ONE IS BEING FORCED TO RACE THEIR PIGEONS DOWN THE WEST ROUTE THATS WHY A LOT OF PEOPLE IN OUR FED ARE CHOOSING NOT TO SEND THEIR DOOS THAT WAY THIS SEASON
Guest WINGS 04 Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 WE WILL SEE WHEN THE RACING STARTS HOW WILL NOT RACE ALF AS IT IS OK TO SAY WE ARE NOT RACING FORM THE WEST BUT WHEN YOU ONLY HAVE 18 WEEKS FOR RACING AND 34 WHEN YOU ARE SHOVELLING SH$T RACING PIGEON IS WHAT WE KEEP SO IT WILL BE HARD NOT TO GO RACING AND A LOT OF PPL WILL BE LOOKING AND SAYING IF THIS ONE AND THAT ONE ARE NOT GOING I WILL SEND A COUPLE AND WIN OR GET THE AVERGES SO THEY LOOK GOOD AT THE END OF THE YEAR AT THE PRIZE NIGHT ALL CLUBS HAVE THEM IN IT

harky Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 i dont really care where i race my pigeons from as long as i get racing them thats where the enjoyment lies .pigeons will home from anywhere so a think i will not be to bothered east or west .more pigeons have been lost down the east due to clashing than predation so iwill take my chances down the west so heres hopin we all have a good racing season ahead of us all .
Guest WINGS 04 Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 SAMMY I WILL HAVE TO LOOK BUT I HAD A SEASON THAT WILL LIVE WITH ME FOREVER

ALF Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 THE LAST TIME THE FED WENT DOWN THE WEST ROUTE WAS 2001 WHEN IT REVERTED BACK TO THE EAST ROUTE AFTER 5 OR 6 RACES BECAUSE OF THE FOOT & MOUTH OUTBREAK

harky Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 maybe after the season is over we will all be able to decide wether this was a good idea or not .remember the good racin down the east this year was all down to the lib control team with the excellent decisions made when releasing the birds in the right weather conditions :)
