The berries are just starting to blacken on the trees just now in Inverness, they may be ripe down your way just now if you can be bothered to pick them. I think they need to be partially cooked. Alternative you can get Sambucol from Boots.

 

Two caps mixed with one bottle of Yakult and a gallon of water, sorts their muck out after about three days.

You are able to buy propriety brands of Elderberry syrup for mixing in the water or on the food.

Apparently, it has properties to help clear the bronchial tubes, so assist against respiratory infections. :)

what are the pros & cons with elderberry, how many times a week can u give it in the water,

I must have previously been using something similar because I didn't notice any difference when I used it Wattie, and no difference this year not using it.

tried them all in my search for a cure for youngbird sickness m8

its good stuff karen and helps the secondery infections and stops it going through the loft but nothing so far will cure youngbird sickness if the have it it just has to run its course as with any virus the weak canot fight it
