Delboy Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 It is with great regret that the members of the Kirkintilloch & District R.P.C decided to disband the club today at the A.G.M. The members of this great club, which had a marvellous history, and great camaraderie, decided to go their separate ways because for many years now, they have been the subject of many pigeon politicians. This club has been under scrutiny by so many surrounding clubs, for reasons, yet unknown. The last straw was when we heard that the Scottish Midland fed were pulling in their boundaries to get us out.We know this is illegal, but the members felt they had had enough. May I say, that everyone left in the Kirkintilloch club had a great respect for each other and the disbandment was done very amicably. Derek Hay
ChrisMaidment08 Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 the trouble with polatics ruin everything
THE FIFER Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 very sorry to hear of clubs going this way, all the best to you all,
Guest redwhiteblue Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 It is a very sad day from your club but with all the idiots in the fed and the idiots who run the fed you have just made them happy. All the best
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 Terrible news Delboy, especially with all the history that goes with the club.

Derek Hay Sad that your club has folded Derek, was also sad that my old club in Netherburn has also folded this year because when I left nobody was prepared to take over running it.
rednyellow Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 gutted is very much an understatement with regards to the demise of our great club, good luck to all members of kirkintilloch rpc who have fought a dogged battle over the last few years to keep things going, alas it is not to be. :'( :'(. we can leave with the thought that over the last 10 or 15 years KIRKINTILLOCH RPC has had some of the top performances not only in the west os scotland but the whole of the country be it club, federation or national.good luck :) :) :) .
OLDYELLOW Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 well im realy sorry for you lads what does the future hold for you now ? where will you go from now ? pesonaly i would of fought to keep my club going seems that the rest of the fed doesnt want TRUE COMPETITION just half a result , the more competion the better in my eyes then your birds will get the merit they truly deserve
Chris Little Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 Gutted for you Derek and your fellow members, another example of politicians ruining our sport. Had an enjoyable visit up there years ago for our club latebred sale, the fanciers up there made us all very welcome and it will never be forgotten.
tippler1 Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 what is going to happen to the sport with all this going on sorry to here about your club hope you have somethink in the pipe line
The Grass Cutter Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 When is someone going to make the people responsible for actions which compels genuine fanciers like D Hay and his mates to disband a great club. There is a cancer in our sport and it must be cured. The people must stop and think before they open their mouths or hoodwink some of their friends to carry out their dirty work. The day may come when the only people left in the sport is them and no doubt they will turn on each other. It is the only thing they know.
ALF Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 I think we'll all have to wait and see what happens with the members of Kirkintilloch club as i think they will all be racing next year ;) :X :X :X
pjc Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 I can't understand how feds can be allowed to change any radius if it effects current members! Surely the club could take the fed to the region for ungentlemanly conduct for this action? Phil
Bluedoo Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 Got to ask, why are Mid fed pulling in their boundary? Why would 2/3 of a Fed membership want to exclude a whole club? Don't know the politics and am curious in these days with memberships in freefall.
tom corrie Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 its news to me that the midland fed were drawing in their boundaries this surley must be done at the fed a.g.m may i ask where delboy got this informatin from i am sad to hear that kirkintilloch has disbandand but surely he cannot lay blame on the midland-fed for their clubs demise

Andy Gray was also refused an Open race sheet to fly in last yb race because we had went with Lanarkshire fed.
pjc Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 So you are disbanding on here say! Seems a bit daft, why not wait until you see a proposition to do such a thing for the Fed AGM and then decide what to do at club level?
tom corrie Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 who refused to give him an open sheet surley if he is still a midland fed member he is still entitled to be given a race sheet
pjc Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 Sounds to me like we are only getting 1 half of a story!
Delboy Posted September 29, 2008 Author Report Posted September 29, 2008 Sounds to me like we are only getting 1 half of a story! No, you arent getting one half of a story. You are getting a very small part of a big story .The bottom line here is, the club disband because of alot of different factors . We did not have any difficulties ie finances, disharmony amongst members, etc, etc. As I said before, the camaraderie and respect between members in this club was second to none. The way the Midland fed treated us is just par for the course for Kirkintilloch rpc . We have been treated worse by ex members wanting to see the club fail, how pathetic are these people.
Delboy Posted September 29, 2008 Author Report Posted September 29, 2008 So you are disbanding on here say! Seems a bit daft, why not wait until you see a proposition to do such a thing for the Fed AGM and then decide what to do at club level? Read the first post pjc, it tells you that their are a number of reasons, over several years, that have made us decide to disband the club.
Bluedoo Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought boundary changes could only be made at the AGM, and would need a 2/3 majority. Also I wouldn't have thought they could do that if your club were fully paid up members of the fed.

Surely the club could take the fed to the region for ungentlemanly conduct for this action? Phil I know with the SHU any change must be passed by the union, and does not come into effect until it is,
