Roland Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 So, Alan, whilst you say the truth, why can't it be then 'Just give the birds every help and hour of daylight'! Why can't it be then, Regardless of what time... that will be the time timed in' :-/ :-/
BLACK W F Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 roland what i was trying to get at it will never be fair there will always be some one its not fair to thats life we do not live in a perfect world cheers Alan
Roland Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 Agree 100% Alan. But you know, the biggest cancer in our sport, is, has been, and unfortunately will always be I'm afraid, is those able, contrive always for own interests, and certainly, very seldom. and most never, what is actually A. Best for the sport, and B. Best for members in general. Then as you quoted becomes only too apparent I'm afraid.
Guest Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 walter personal attacks do not help you to justify your persistant goings on and are not called for i dont need your birds as i can more than hold my own in any weather and winds i have many tickets in the top 100 of the snfc/snrpc but thanks for the offer and i dont live in the extreem west but i have raced there but hey!!! we all think we race into the hardest place in the world but try racing to airshire and renfrewshire thats where men are men hope you get your way but iam not sure the rest of the members wil like you this time next year withall thease early libs at any cost just to give the north boys a fair chance (will any birds be able to cross a chanell covered in fog/rain strong winds ) the race controllers have a hard enough job without putting them under any presure yes E.A.P liberations but not at all cost,s
Guest Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 walter it must be me who is misundrestanding what you are saying but i have to say in the 12 years that i raced in the snfc and even since ive left i have never knowan a race controler hold birds longer than he should have with out a problem with weather and on the few occations that in my oppinion he might have held them a we bit late nine times out ten it was because the north was not fully clear and that would be very unfair to the north boys it is dam near impossible to get a clear route from france to the extreem north of scotland so what would the most of us do under thease same conditions luckly we dont have to make thease decisions
walterbmasson Posted January 15, 2009 Author Report Posted January 15, 2009 frankdooman if i can see the btrds over the channel and another 100 mls clear to get them under way honestly iam not bothered about 30 to 40 mls of rain as you will not win any races if the birds cant come through a 50mls of rain and i learn my youngsters to home in bad conditions because some time in life they are going to meet some very bad races i guarantee it pays to do it and frankdooman i for one isnt bothered about a splash of rainit is better to meet some rain on the home end than being cooped up to long in crates loosing condition after all our birds in the baskets tuesday 10am for a friday race wednesday same time for saterday race as ive said if they get a good start eap one for all and all for 8) 8) 8) 8) one
Guest Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 walter i agree with90% of what you say but some do not agree with leting them go unless the weather is right but we are not talking about 50mls of rain we are still talking of maybe 400/450 mls of bad weather are you sugesting that the race controlers are deliberatly holding them too long before liberating them????
walterbmasson Posted January 16, 2009 Author Report Posted January 16, 2009 frank i am not accusing nobody of any misdoing just trying to gog peoples memorys that there is another 200mls after the first drop in the nationals if the weather] FORCAST OK ROR EARLY LIB LET ALL BIRDS HAVE A CHANCE TO GET HOME ON THE DAY] SURLY THATS NOT PUTTING ANY PRESSURE ON RACE CONTROLLER IF THE CAST IS GOOD WHAT BLAME CAN YOU PUT ON AN EARLY LIB YOU CANT PUT A NAVIGATION SYSTEM ON TO THE PIGEONS BACKS I CANT PUT IT ANY CLEARLY AFTER ALL IT IS CALLED LONG DISTANCE RACING AND AS THE POST DISTINCTLY SAYS FAIRNESS FOR ALL END OF STORY GOOD RACING FOR 2009 FRANK 8) 8) 8)
Roland Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 One must give any and every bird a chance to home on the day. Then get the merit it deserves. So 4 O'clock or before if the sun is just coming through, and no HOD. Then if a bird stops for a rest 2 -3 hours, a tot of water and a sandwich fine, it will carry on. Birds on the loft next morning didn't spend the night till 4 25 next morning suitting on a roff around the corner. So it it was just 30 miles away, and starts off again at say 3 . 45 then it should be counted as that. Ok. I agree the velocity will come down a bit... so that is where HOD seemingly level it out in theory.

Roland Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 Sorry, but they will.... if one ever cares to look at the birds in nature, at what time they are about, then yours will up and flying too. Indeed earlier, because they want to get home. Whatever disturbs them , milk man, a lover nipping out quick will set them up and aaway.
