Where does this crap come from that the RPRA are short of money!!! It's not and well most should know. As for sinking obviously far from it. Further MUCH the reason the RPRA don't invest, spend, is because of the members out cry every time they spend a penny. and that's not for a crap lol.

Some folks it seems draw notions out of thin air and quickly convince themselves it's true, (Mostly because it suits their purpose)  whilst others just take anything derogative as gospel and run wit it.  Geez give us strength.

There is surely enough that wants looking into that's constructive, of use and worthwhile without these mindless quims and day dreams!

Criticism is Constructive, Competion is Healthy! Its not wrong, why pay more for less when there is an alternative? Every which way you turn in this hobby is another "rip off" its rife from Club to R.P.R.A. Headquaters and all points in between. If the Union was as strong a ship as the "Old School" thinks why are so many people moaning about how its run? Now to get back to the point they go and sack the best worker they have! If it was all so hunky dory on their doorstep then nothing could or would of been said. I tell you now every fancier in the country should sign that petition if only to prove a point we WILL BE LISTENED TO! And if we are not then it must be time to choose an alternative

Great Super Star, and everything is just hot air. First thing to be critical of is MEMEBERS  'Not attending meeting, any meetings. Second is members have waiting years for 'SOMEONE else to do it. Thirdly critical is licking up to names and playing 'follow the leader' many others but then place at top 'Whinges in Arm Chairs.

First constructive thing is 'Attend meeting! Second constructive issue is 'what is best for ALL and Not the favoured few! Then the REALISMS put forward and not silly Dreams!

So now we should ask every one who WILL attend meetings whenever possible to put their' names UP on the list pronto!

Ok now let's NAME and Shame these ole fossils stating why?

Who needs to be removed and WHY! Who lines their own pockets and how and why! etc. etc. Remember there is only one answer to why!

Karen may be whatever one wishes, or believes, or wants to believe... Is the building let? Last I heard was it was being demolished! Best spend money there first then eh! I don't think so.

I don't know how hard she worked... she got paid I know that much! You, others, and I have worked hard for years. I've worked blood hard from the age of 10 or so picking potatoes etc. Baling, Back of the Sledge at 12 stacking the bales for 16 - 17 hours a day from 12 years old. I've raised £1000's for charity and many 'Good Causes' for nowt... many times not even a thank you!

Raised 1000's of £#s with out even being thanked. Run Boxing Clubs, Youth F.C.'s leagues etc. President / Chairmen of pigeon clubs etc for Free.

But Karen, regardless what one wishes to believe committed the cardinal sin 'Betraying a Trust'! Never mind whether one wishes to believe it was for the right reasons, never mind if one wishes to believe it was for the best, never mind if one wishes to defend saying 'It had to be said' or wish to defend and force her re - instatement. Very few on here could do the same where they held a position of trust and keep their job'!

Yes I admire Karen, but she knew all the rules. Indeed has quoted one to me that put ME RIGHT ONCE!

So let's not keep confusing these issues between one then the others.

RPRA was slated for say the Avian Flu, many of us wanted action -I know I did, I wrote to many MP.'s and E MP's Found one that was a son of a great fancier.... no one wanted to know. RPRA did the deeds whether you slagged Peter of or not! What were the many funds being set up.... where did they go? F & M RPRA did that right too.

PMV jabs, regardless what we want, it turned out they did that WERE right too... ALL in opposition to the members thoughts and dreams - Perhaps they believed that the members wishes could or wouldn't be carried through ... well certainly wouldn't have been by the members and that the SAD fact. So start a heading ‘Changes the RPRA need to make, would be a start.

Then another one ‘I promise to attend meetings from now on!

Another, ‘Realism of progress’.

P.S this is also on the wrong site, so will start another thread. RPRA FOSSILS WITH THIS POSTING.

Back to Basics, yes the alternative is there for you all to grasp, its been there for some good 35yrs now and enjoying membership growth. You will always find a very helpful voice at the end of the phone, everything is delivered on time and your transfers are by return of post, you cannot knock it till you have tried it.Trust me guys you have nothing to loose, we have recieved applications for full federations to join us, yes the evacuation has begun, but it will be interesting to see how the old guard react, most probably we won't notice any change at all they call it "Ostrich Syndrome" bury your heads deep enough gentlemen and there is risk you'll stop breathing?

The future's bright, the future's NWHU, get on board now!

although the thought of a better organisation is welcomed the slightly bigger ring size i also welcome as i have in the past had to remove many rings from older birds , but to have NWHU rings on my birds i could not as it would assume my birds were from opposite side of the country when there not if i were given the option of a UKEC prefixed ring ( UK for united kingdom and EC for East Coast )  i would be jumping at changing  :-/

Tommy Hibbs who I'm sure you know Vic once told me that the "old school" will either have to change or they will go under. Do you have a modern out look on things pigeon racing wise or are you "Old School"?

Actually I am all for change, providing it is a change for the good. The game is dying and further ructions between us, will only harm all pigeon fanciers. There are many of us that were thinking of calling it a day BEFORE this latest disturbance.

Well then basically we are all singing from the same hymn sheet, but it will all come to nothing and things will continue to decline at the same if not faster rate of knots! Even the signing of the petition to reinstate Karen James which costs nothing and no need to get out of the arm chair to do isn't exactly bursting at the seams, and that could prove a point, if every member signed it we would soon see if they have any intention of listening to the masses. Lets face it there isnt anyone out there in this game that doesnt know she would take some sort of replacing if at all possible yet still most cant be bothered.

I`m not into any politics but the time for change is NOW ,and lets start with all the money from blackpool go`s into fighting our corner against  Raptors, the public misconception about our flying rats (That really gets my goat) and stop all this your no getting in our club cause your too good or the winds always in your favour (BOLLOCKS), And lastly Bring back Karen because she had the balls most of the men in our sport don`t ,

ps sorry if i have repeated anything but ave no read all the posts yet.

Can anyone out there relate to H.M. Employment Protection Act 1975 and tell me where it says "an employee has not the freedom of speech against his/her employer" and just for the record the contract of employment that we all have to sign these days is not worth the paper it is written on, ask any legal beagle and they just laugh at you. I would suggest that should anyone with broad shoulders at the rpra decide to take this case to a final stage and dismiss Mrs James, they themselves would later be sacked themselves for gross negligence of duty.

The award of damages awarded to Mrs James at a tribunal for wrongful dismissal would be enormous. Now I ask you where is that amount of money going to be allocated from? Its no use standing there with your hands in your pockets ! DIG DEEP LADS they'll be round with a collection bucket and funnily enough all the brainwashed "Old Guard" will put into it as they regard it as their duty to do so.

In the words of Arni ( another great leader) "I'll be back" my tea is awaiting me.

one problem with council is rule 142 which gives them absolute power to do anything if they deem it an emergency. this is how they got ets in and how they ammended the rules 3 or 4 times during last season. last agm southern region ( i think) tried to have 142 deleted. its probably naive  to talk about alternative unions etc...but if rule 142 was deleted it would be a powerful rebuttle to those on the council who don't feel the need to reflect the memberships wishes....it would also remove a lot of their power.

You will not find what you are looking for written in any contract of employment.

Nevertheless, employment tribunals recognise that all employment contracts include the implied reciprocal contractual term of 'trust and confidence'.

Sometimes called a psychological contract, it governs how you feel about how you have been treated (dignity at work), and applies equally well to management and staff..

STOP RIGHT THERE! Should anything less than Mrs.James be reinstated with compensation for loss of wages, plus additional awards of  monies, for the stress / health/ inconveiniance that her employers have caused her. If she was my client I would advise her to submit an additional claim of victimisation against her current employer, now understanding all the facts of the case there is not a shadow of doubt in my mind that the case would succeed on the presentation of proven / factual evidence alone.

Food for Thought?

Now who is waking up and smelling the coffee, "the silence of the lambs" has always gone on, the galloping major was repeatedly named as being the "controller of the press" he's long gone, then they blamed poor old ernie he's gone too, now we have a decent chap as editor but we have no presses to run anymore, the magazine is printed elsewhere at no extra cost to you? ( so why does the price keep increasing). The Racing Pigeon was the No.1 magazine for the sport until we purchased the BHW as an investment then everyone was amusingly convinced that if we subscribe to the book we would all benefit from the profits (read that last line again) what profits?

Yes there is an alternative, some rightly say it is a paper that covers the sport in the south of england, well to a degree you have a point

But if the scribes wrote articles for it and the fanciers subscribed to it would'nt that put it back where it belongs, in the No.1 spot.

Should there be a "silence of the lambs" attitude applied to our Karen then I'm sure the Racing Pigeon would gladly welcome her on board as their feature writer. Now then who was it that took the decision to suspend her, even you are accountable, we the members pay your wages and after this matter has been resolved, I think you'll find yourself seeking employment, " life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your going to get" in your case .................................. the boot!
